You can ban certain terms here....

But you can't ban the actions because they require no description ...it speaks for itself

Tennessee has now given now the entire country an object lesson in critical race theory...

The GOP ignored due process of the Tenessee Three but made sure to insist on it when a republican was facing multiple sexual assault charges...

No investigation conducted
Unverified video evidence was used against them
No vetting of the accusations against the Tenessee Three prior to expulsion
No disclosure regarding the proceedures of the meeting

The GOP cries about the lack of due process for donald trump...about the political persecution... 😭

Strangely they're silent when the GOP is far more blatant than any DA or federal prosecutor

Was the Tenessee Three afforded an investigation like donald trump?
Was the evidence against them verified as admissable?
Were they afforded legal defense?

Ignoring due process is what it is...we don't need to use "banned" terminolgy to understand what occurred in TN

They Are Risen...They Are Risen Indeed,,,,Hallelujah!!! 👼

The TN GOP Just Made These Two Men Interracial Intergenerational Rock Stars

Actual laws don't have to be followed by white republicans in TN...

But rules of decorum can get you expulled without due process

Yesterday, Popular Information published an article that posed this question: Where does the Tennessee House Speaker actually live?

The issue is that Speaker Cameron Sexton (R) represents District 25, which encompasses the community of Crossville, about two hours outside of Nashville. Under the Tennessee Constitution, Sexton can only represent District 25 if he is "a qualified voter of that district."

A Popular Information investigation uncovered substantial evidence that Sexton and his family lived year-round in Nashville, not Crossville. The piece cited property records, school enrollment, and the observation of his neighbor in Crossville. Sexton's office, however, did not respond to a request for comment.

After yesterday's story was published and spread rapidly online, Sexton did communicate with Phil Williams, a high-profile Tennessee reporter. Williams reported that "Sexton argues, as Speaker, he has to be in Nashville so often that it's easier to have his family here." So now we know the answer to the question: Sexton, and his family, live in Nashville.

In addition to not living in Crossville, Sexton has also not paid his property taxes on his two-bedroom condo in Crossville for the last two years, according to the Cumberland County website.

Who needs to respect constitutional rights like due process when you're committed to lying?

And to use the house rules of decorum to expel 2 elected officials based on something you can't prove?

THAT'S the definition of CRT

REVEALED: House Speaker calls for expulsion of three Democrats, but 'can't prove' claims of violence

We pressed, "What is your opinion? Should they be expelled?"

"My opinion," Sexton responded, "is they should be expelled."

While the House Speaker insisted he has no problem with the protests that were occurring outside the House chamber, he has claimed the three Democrats were trying to "incite violence."

NewsChannel 5 Investigates noted, "There's no doubt they were disruptive. But what's the evidence they were trying to incite violence?"

Still, we wanted to know, "Do you have any evidence that these three members were encouraging protesters to spit on members or troopers?"

The Speaker's response: "I mean you can't prove that."

On talk radio, he went even further: "What they did today was equivalent, at least equivalent, maybe worse, depending on how you look at it, of doing an insurrection in the Capitol."

You mean an official complaint is filed with the Ethics commission BEFORE an expulsion?
You mean they actually have investigations into the facts BEFORE an expulsion?

You mean a white republican actually gets due process but 2 black democrats get nothing but a vote?

Must be nice

Arizona House Expels Far-Right Lawmaker After Wild Conspiracy-Laden Hearing

The Republican-controlled Arizona state House has voted to expel a far-right first-term representative after the lawmaker invited a conspiracy theorist to testify during an election integrity hearing ― only for the witness to falsely accuse judges, lawmakers and other public servants across the state of being bribed by Mexican cartels.

Now-former state Rep. Liz Harris (R), known for her far-right politics and conspiracy theories about Democratic election wins, was expelled with bipartisan support by a 46-13 vote in the state House. An ethics probe had recently found that Harris had engaged in “disorderly behavior” for inviting the conspiracy theorist witness.

“The truth is on my side,” Harris said before the vote, the Arizona Republic reported.

Breger’s testimony in March was fiery, directly (and falsely) alleging that dozens of public servants were on the take. Among other things, she alleged that “the City of Mesa is a racketeering organization” and that nonexistent “phantoms” were employed as attorneys and election officials.

“It still shocks me that anyone gave him a microphone without flushing out with 100% accuracy what he’s accusing,” Caglioti said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In politics, those who have the power make the rules.
In the Tennessee House of Representatives, an exclusive NewsChannel 5 investigation discovered they also ignore the rules they don't like.

Those questionable practices allow the state's Republican supermajority to introduce dramatic changes in legislation with no public notice. They can also kill bills they don't like without anyone knowing who did it.

"All votes constituting final action on any bill or resolution shall be by roll call vote."

— Tennessee House committee rules

A couple of recent examples: a bill to require high schools to tell seniors how they can register to vote, another just to study whether college student IDs can be used for voting — both killed this past session in committee on unrecorded voice votes.

"What we're experiencing now is an abuse of power," said House Democratic Caucus Chair Vincent Dixie, D-Nashville.

Opinion: Why expelling me from the legislature backfired on Tennessee Republicans

CNN — Republicans who instigated my removal from the Tennessee House last week, along with and that of my legislative colleague Rep. Justin Jones, apparently failed to anticipate the nationwide backlash that their actions would engender. Democracy prevailed and the rule of law has won.

This week, I will retake my seat. After a vote held Wednesday afternoon by the Shelby County Commission, I will once again represent the beautifully diverse jurisdiction of District 86 in Memphis in Tennessee’s Assembly — as I did until Thursday of last week, when Republicans voted to remove me and Rep. Jones.

The unprecedented and partisan move by the chamber’s Republican supermajority to expel me from my duly-elected position temporarily silenced the voices of my constituents and flouted their right to be represented in the House. But it failed – as it did for Rep. Jones, when he was sent back to the House on Monday following a vote by the council of his district in Metro Nashville.

This should be a chastening moment for revanchist forces in Tennessee’s legislature and across the country. Over the long haul, the undemocratic machinations employed to oust us from office are destined to fail. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once famously said that the moral arc of the universe bends toward justice. Events this week demonstrated, more than ever, that this is indeed the case.

Maher: Expelled TN Legislators Tried to Stop Those They Disagreed with from Talking Like They Do on Campuses

During the “Overtime” segment of HBO’s “Real Time” aired on CNN, host Bill Maher stated that the two Democratic Tennessee state legislators who were expelled did “what they do on college campuses, we just stop you from talking if we disagree with a bullhorn or shouting.”

Maher said that while comparing the actions of the lawmakers in Tennessee to January 6 is ridiculous and he agrees with their beliefs on gun control, “These guys are legislators. What I would say to them is, look, I admire your passion and I admire that young people your age are in government. I think that’s good that you want to be in government and not just oblivious to it. And the issue, okay, you have [a] valid point. But you’re in the legislature now, you don’t need the bullhorn. That’s for when you’re out on the street when you have to modulate. This is what they do on college campuses, we just stop you from talking if we disagree with a bullhorn or shouting. They have to leave that behind. Now you’re inside. You’re in the building. You got elected. The way to effect change is you write a law, do it that way.”

Thank you for proving my point

The TN GOP shuts down debate and stops anyone from talking...conservatives are OK with that
2 black TN democrats propose laws and are lectured on how to effect change in the "appropriate" manner?

What happened to due process being the appropriate manner?
How about an ethics complaint & investigation of the evidence as appropriate manner?

CRT in operation...Live and direct
