If this is true I don't think DeSantis was thinking straight when he ran that through. Or perhaps his counsel didn't mention this.

Me thinks a huge property tax increase is not going to make his presidential run look too great.

Uh Oh

The lefty media is tooting their horn while just quoting a sentence or two but I haven't seen any serious legal writeup on this. DeSantis was asked about it before and just said Disney will be paying their own bonds but didn't really go into what that meant exactly.

Let's break this down into it's various components. If and when the state takes back ownership, here are the options. Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) is owned by Disney Properties. It also has it's own water and sewer plant. Disney will (or could be forced to) sell these to private utility companies, of which there are many. How do utilities make their money? A percentage return on their investment. The higher the acquisition cost, the higher the cost of services....set by the PSC.......which Disney will have to pay. As for roads, simply make the entire grid a toll access highway system. Again, this is a Disney problem, not a county one. Disney uses a disproportionate amount of water, environmentalists have been raising hell about this for decades and they are the biggest contributor to the destruction of the everglades........this will cost them dearly.
To think the state hasn't thought this through is mostly leftist hand wringing .
