So, what teams has Mighty 3-5 GaTech beat this year?
GaTech 69 - 6 Alcorn State - D2
GaTech 65 - 10 Tulane (2-5)
GaTech 22 - 16 FSUcks

1. Ga So was NOT a Division 2 team, it was Division 1AA (FCS) and moved up to 1A (FBS) the next year.
2. They were better than more than 15 1A teams that year and had a 9-3 record the next year against a 1A schedule.
3. They were the same classification that FSU was before moving up to the higher classification in 1954.
4. Since 1954 FSU has lost to 1AA teams SIX times (Abilene Christian, Memphis and So Miss four times - two were in your own house) while Ga So is the ONLY 1AA to have beaten the Gators in that same time period.
5. Also remember that the Gators had lost 20 starters to season ending injuries before playing that game.
6. Losing to Ga So that year is not much different than losing to a lower 1A team like Army, Air Force or Purdue, all of which were ranked (Sagarin) lower that Ga So.
We are not proud of having lost to Ga So, but the loss to FSU that year hurt much more. It ultimately resulted in a coaching change which means much more to the Gator Nation than that single loss to a 1AA team.

No loss is respectable, but it is no different than FSU's losses to comparable teams in the past.
It's called a "quality loss" in the SEC.
There is no such thing as a "quality loss", even in the ACC.
Is FSU's loss to Georgia Tech "no different" than UF's loss to Georgia Southern...in your mind at least?

We all know the GSU loss was bad. As bad as they get, in abstract. Take a closer look though. We were 4-8 that year, we sucked. Gsu was a better team than us. Period. So other than from the perspective that UF should NEVER lose to a 1AA team, it wasn't shocking.
GaTech on the other hand was 1-5, fsu was 33-1 over the last 2 1/2 years. So yeah, that's a pretty "bad" loss.
Yeah so what...what does GA So have to do with the Noles being over rated this year? Honestly you guys had this loss coming...if it wasn't for Cook you guys would have lost 1 or 2 more games this year to lesser team too.
