Pitchforks and torches at the coach’s house any minute now.

But how can this be?

I thought they knew 100% that he was the right choice. I mean he’s a fitness guru, doesn’t eat carbs, and brought a more refined Kendall Briles aura of up-tempo fast-paced don’t let the defense breathe kind of offensive genius. Those things made him the one and obvious choice above all others.

And yet Whorechant is peppered with threads calling for his job.

How strange…..

Don't act like you haven't been in our shoes. Lol

Don’t recall us going all in on Zook, Muschamp, and McYellowHorseTeeth. We were cautiously optimistic but deep down knew they were second-rate choices.

Holes two years ago were ready to fight anyone who questioned Norvil as the second coming on account of the facts stated above.

Memories are short. I remember when they were all in with Mr.
Lethal Simplicity. "Simply genius" hire.

Well, that certainly wasn't me so, meh.

I'm just numb, BUT I now have my Saturday's free for fall wheeling trips. Super pumped about that!

To be fair, I thought muschamp had the possibility to be legit, since he was a pretty hot name at the time. He was Texas’s head coach in waiting if I remember correctly. The other two, though, were pretty iffy at the time. Didn’t fireronzook.com start pretty quickly after he was hired?

We’ve had some down years for sure. Not sure we were as bad as FSU for this long or this many consecutive years. I mean even with Muschump and McElwain we had 1 good year. When is the last time FSU was competitive or had a good year??

Football games in general have become so long that they burden fall Saturday schedules.

Love college football but one game being 4 hours long leaves little room for other things.

what? What does that mean? "Burden fall Saturday schedules?"

fall Saturday schedules are literally for college football.

get your priorities straight, TJ

sheesh.

Or like 5 hours when you have to watch 200+ yards worth of penalties. Good freak'n grief. I love the reviews, but they are killing the game's pace.

Exactly this. I wasn’t “all in” on Muschamp, but it seemed like a reasonable hire. He just couldn’t get over his defensive tendencies to allow Florida to continue playing a high scoring offense that would sometimes put the defense in a bad position. Instead, he put in a low scoring offense that regularly put the defense in a bad position.

Zook was, frankly, a desperate hire and probably did better than he should have. MacDonkey teeth was a bad hire from the get go (although he did have me believing after the Ole Miss game)

FSU fans, you lost in horrific and embarassing fashion.

Those refugees who hang out on a GATOR board through some kind of masochism can kiss our collective butts.

It was fantastic and we will forever make fun of FSU for that horrific loss to a FBS team.

That's an interesting take. I'm pretty sure you and @gatorshime were whacking each other off during the game.

I mean, whatever brings you joy, right?

Muschamp is definitely the biggest disappointment of that group. Especially after 2012. YOURE right about the other two. I can almost understand there being some panic around the zook hire since no one wants to follow a legend, but you’d think that would have taught them that lesson. The fact that mcelwain was considered a “cost effective” hire is proof of how wrong headed Foley could be. Florida football is a National brand, if not global. It is almost priceless. You don’t skimp on something that valuable. I hope they realize now how important the head coaching hire is since you have several very recent examples of it among our rivals.

Foley was quoted as saying the thought Muschamp was the last football coach he would ever have to hire. He was caught unprepared for a coaching search three times.

I remember that quote too. You’d think after 2013 he would at least have thought about making a list, right? I think the thing about muschamp is that you can’t fault the guy’s effort, and he hates to lose, but he seemed like he worked really hard instead of smart. I wanted him to turn things around and I stayed on
The bandwagon way too long. Frankly, I’ve always thought that what we should do is literally throw money at the best possible option. Having a saban or a dabo bringing in rings and top classes is worth several times whatever they are getting paid.

Is it?

Do you have access to their premium board, because I went to the sports message board, and there is not one post about the JSU game.

There is an 8 page discussion about the women's soccer team at the top of the board, though, if that interests anyone.

Muschamp was still a DC when he was our HC. He only recruited defensive players, and he ran the offense specifically to help the defense get the best stats possible.

Maybe they’re finally just disbanding the program?

No I'm sorry, I didn't want the shark humper from day 1 here.

The ONLY good thing that guy brought us was he was so bad and inept at this job that we got Dan Mullen as a result.

He gave us PBJ sandwich lessons, killer BBQ sauce, and style upgrades on how to go sock-less.

Thank God for those PBJ lessons, before that I thought it was peanut butter OR jelly, what a revelation to discover you could have both at the same time. He taught me so much about sandwiches and their making.

I’ve seen fans suggesting Lane Kiffen and Urban Meyer as a replacement. They are so dillusioNole

Watching the Jags today, Urbs might be available sooner rather than later.

Getting blown out by the team widely considered the worst in the league, not a great debut.

I’d take urb in a heartbeat if we could also hire his replacement at the same time. He’ll give you the best 3-4 seasons in decades. The key is not fumbling the replacement.

Should fumbling the follow up be called “zooking” or “muschamping”… for example, I was doing really well with this girl at a bar the other night but totally zooked when I went for second base too soon
