Terrell Wiliiams new UF DL coach

For a guy who will be 41 going into next season, it's pretty impressive that he's been coaching DL for 17 years. I'm no expert, but that means he's been doing it for a little less than half his life.

His resume is really impressive. At Purdue, he coached Anthony Spencer, Cliff Avril and Ryan Kerrigan.
At A&M, they jumped from 90th to 30th in rush defense in his first year. In his second year, they led the country in sacks and third in TFL. His strength is talent development. He is a good recruiter who was assigned to Florida while at aTm. He was the only coach retained by Kevin Sumlin at A&M. At Purdue, he was their lead recruiter and also had Florida as his territory. I can't remember the year, but one year he signed 10 or 11 kids from the sunshine state.

He has never recruited for a school like Florida. I can't imagine being an out of state coach going head to head with the Florida schools for Florida kids. Win or lose, he knew the state, built strong relationships with the coaches and had a number of kids considering A&M and Purdue because of him.

I think this hire also helps with Cece and Cowart.

I don't even care who our WR coach is. Just HAVING a WR coach will be a nice change.

Chris Leak is going to remain on staff, but not as a coach. More in line with football operations. This is something he has always wanted to do anyways and I'm glad he will get a chance to do it at UF.

Thanks for the info and I am very pleased to hear this. I've been a fan since the day he committed (on his UT visit) and became a huge recruiter. He is a true Gator.

I could be wrong but I remember real well he committed at the Army High School AA game. After that commitment it went crazy getting commitments from Chad Jackson, Bubba Caldwell, Joe Cohen, and a few more high profile recruits at that time. On his visit to UT they started his brother for one series and pulled him for James Banks who played poorly and CJ Leak never got consideration from one series of judgement. Chris dropped UT from consideration from that point on. This truly started the downfall of the Fulmer tenure at UT.
