Numbers shouldn’t be retired, imo. It puts too much focus on individuals and football is a team sport.

I like coach Spurrier’s thoughts on retired numbers. He had his “unretired “
Not retired. Earned. Getting Spurrier, Wuerffel, or Tebow's number should be a reward for performance. No freshmen or 1st year transfers should show up and get those numbers.
Are you against mvp awards? All-stars in baseball? Probowl? Hall of fame?
Those are team sports as well that single out players.

I don't mind annual awards.
I'm mixed on halls of fame. They get stupid after a while with a huge gray area. Good players who don't get in and questionable players who do.
Too much is made of about jersey numbers IMO. In college I agree that numbers shouldn’t be retired.
In general, yes. The Heisman is a joke at this point. They just look at a good teama ND pick a player (usually QB) which has absolutely NOTHING to do with who is the best player. Most voters rarely watch games and just look at stats or have someone else do it. It's a joke at this point tbh.... unless fsu players win it then it's totally fair
