TB Bucs / VH III

Very good move by the Bucs. Got an extra mid round pick AND the guy who I'm pretty sure they wanted all along. Their secondary should be much better next year (though their DL still needs significant improvement).

Now. About the #8 pick in round 2....

Jonathon Bullard!!!

The Bears shit the bed agian, Fox is an absolute joke. They just got schooled by the bucs of all teams in the draft and gave them what they wanted all along and traded up for some joke ass undersized kid from UGA that they blitz every down with and only had 4 sacks.

Hey dude, hand me that Gator horn,,,, thanks, toot - toot... :D

Since 2009, Top 10 NFL picks by league: SEC (27); Big 12 (17); ACC (13); Pac-12 (12); B1G (5); MAC (2); -- And all tied at one each: AAC (1), BYU (1), FCS (1), Notre Dame (1)
~ That's 10 more than the Big 12, and it's 2 more than the ACC & PAC 12 had combined.
SEC - SEC - SEC - SEC - repeat as necessary! :D

UF had two players selected in the first round for the 3rd time in the last 4 years.
Florida has had a first round pick in nine of the last 10 years.

Florida's 50 all-time first round picks are the sixth-best total in the nation and 2nd among SEC programs, trailing only Alabama by one pick (51).

Florida and Alabama are the only 2 SEC schools to ever have 2 DB in the same season, taken in the 1st Rnd of the NFL draft. #11 VHIII, #17 'Freakazoid' Neal ;)

Multiple Gators were chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft for the 13th time since 1967, which is 4 more times than any other SEC school during that span.
Alabama is the next-closest with only nine.

The Gators' 48 first round picks since the start of the common draft era (1967) are the most in the SEC and fourth-most by any team in college football.

However - Florida football has no History or Traditions, heck, they didn't even exist before 1990, just ask any genius rival 'foaming at the mouth' fan.... - - :D:D:D

Thad Bullard!!!

Historically, the Bucs' dreadful performance in the draft has led to a lot of losses. But that suggested pick would probably immediately outrank all of their prior horrible decisions to instantly become their worst draft pick ever. I hate to break it to you, but the way he throws people around on Monday Night Raw is fake.

Oops. Original post corrected.

It's the 4th rounder they got from the Bears. It's not just a kicker. It's the best to come out of college.

3/72 - DE/DT Jonathan Bullard 6-3 283 Sr -- Chicago Bears
The Biggest 'steal' of the NFL Draft imo. Bullard entered the NFL Draft following the conclusion of his four-year career with the Gators. As a senior this past season, the Shelby, N.C. native was named a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, a 1st-Team All-American by CBSSports.com and Pro Football Focus, and was a unanimous 1st-Team All-SEC selection. Bullard appeared in 50 games and made 36 starts.
=============

1/11 - CB Vernon Hargreaves III 5-11 199 Jr - Bucs
2015: Named one of 3 finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award. A consensus 1st-Team All-American and 1st-Team All-SEC selection. Also a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award. An All American and All SEC pick in all 3 years at UF. Named the National Defensive Freshman of the Year by College Football News.

1/17 - FS Keanu 'Freakazoid' Neal - Falcons - Mel Kiper; on a 1-10 scale, he's a 15 on character.
2015: Played in 12 games and started 11 times at safety. Missed the first two games due to injury. Finished third on the team with 96 total tackles, including a team-high 51 solo tackles. Had 3.5 tackles-for-loss and 2.0 sacks on the year. Posted a career high 14 tackles against Tennessee and at LSU. He led the team in tackles 5X's on the season.

This makes just the 2nd time in SEC History that a school has had 2 DB's picked in the 1st Rnd in the same season. Hargreaves and Neal became just the 4th pair of collegiate DB's from the same team to both be top-20 picks since the start of the common and modern draft eras (1967). UF-UA-TX-USCw

Under the 'NO HISTORY or TRADITIONS' category:

At least one Florida player has been selected in every NFL Draft since 1952.

That is the longest streak in the SEC's long and storied history. o_O -- :p

4/125 ILB Antonio Morrison rsSr - Career 224 Tkls, 21 TFL. - Colts

4/126 WR Demarcus Robinson Jr - Career 106 Rec, 1,355 Yds , 9 TD's - Chiefs

Five Gators drafted. The top four on defense. Reinforces the narrative that Muschamp recruited excellent defensive players. But not much on offense.

I'm waiting for Paco to tell me how brilliant it was for Taylor to declare for the draft and how wrong I was that he should have waited one more year and shown off what he could do behind a more stable offense.

Middle of the 5th round and he's still not gone.

Brilliant strategy, right Paco?

1/11 CB Vernon Hargreaves III - Bucs - Jr ED
1/17 FS Keanu 'freakazoid' Neal - Falcons - Jr ED

3/72 DE/DT Jonathan Bullard - Bears
4/125 ILB Anthonio Morrison - Colts
4/126 WR Marcus Robinson - Chiefs - Jr ED
6/211 RB Kelvin Taylor - 49'ers - Jr ED
7/240 DE Alex McCalister - 49'ers Jr ED
(the 5 early departure (ED's) juniors were all drafted)

F/A signings:
TE Jake McGee - Panthers
CB Brian Poole - Falcons
C/OG Trip Thruman - Bengals

Plus 2 former Gator / transfer QB's were drafted.
Jacoby Brissett - 3rd Rnd by the Pats (UF > NCSt)
Jeff Driskel - 6th Rnd by the 49'ers (UF Grad > LaTech)

So 12, Gators and former Gator's, have now joined the NFL. Luck to them all.... :)

Kelvin Taylor wasn't going to get any better by coming back for his senior year. He all of a sudden wasn't going to get a lot faster and have speed like his daddy. Plus he wouldn't have gotten as many carries with Cronkrite, Scarlett and Thompson on the team and lastly he isn't exactly yor typical junior. He's pretty old for a junior and RBs don't have much of a shelf life as it is. He made the right decision.

Part of that is bc last year UF had a large number of offensive players drafted in 2015. ...not to mention at one time there were two NFL QBs on the roster at one time, Brissett and Driskel.

I'm surprised Taylor went that late. A thousand yards and 13 tds in that garbage offense? He played pretty well against some good defenses too (other than 'Bama). Plenty of carries to go around in the 49ers offense. He could do pretty well there, especially with Driskel slinging it around (this last part is joking).

Skill players? Very few, if any. DJ was a first rounder and he was a tackle. The other offensive draftees were mostly OL. And none save DJ WERE in the upper part of the draft.

Question, when was the last time Florida had a offensive skill player in the first round? In the second?

Hint: the last skill offensive player from Florida drafted in the first round was FSU's Daddy.
