Spurrier Returns!

Congratulations! We enjoyed him and are happy for SOS and Jerri. Any word on his moving? Probably just sell his home in Columbia and take up residence in Crescent Beach?

I'm sure Foley wanted at least the perception that he mended that fence. Plus I think Steve intended to do this kind of thing all along.

Good move for him. Good move by Foley. MacE said all the right things. And good for a good Gators.

My goodness, this will have a great impact on our program. It will certainly help recruiting and the positive direction we've already taken. It's Great To Be A Florida Gator.

Spurrier is being provided an office with the other staff, and he relayed today during the conference call he is selling his house in Columbia and buying a home in Gainesville while retaining his Crescent Beach home.

My first game at old Florida Field was when SOS was our QB.
I'm very happy that he'll be coming home to the SWAMP.

Mc played a large part in getting him back where we all know he belongs.
Mc said long ago that he looked forward to picking Steve's brain on football. ;)
Steve has already said that he doesn't intend to interfere, but will be available for talks whenever he's called upon. That all sounds very good to me.

Welcome home to the Spurrier's, all of them. :)

Maybe he will wander through the offices on the days they are drawing up new plays.

He said "I wanna clarify I'm not coaching anything." But then later in his interview said "If Mac & the other coaches have any questions that's fine, that's all in the rules." He also said, "We wanna get Florida back to the level Coach Urban & myself had it a few years ago, that's what we're shooting for." -You can bet your bottom dollar he'll have his input on it. You can also bet he'll be relaying what to do with the quarterback & receivers. He gave that away in the interview. I've heard alot of FSU & Bama fans mocking this like they aren't concerned, you should be very concerned, Saban couldn't out fox the fox when he was at a far less superior team at South Carolina, just think what a little input will do in a program where Mac is steadily getting more and more talent. Can't wait to see the process. Go Gators!

Have you ever had the old grandpa or uncle who finally retired and hit their hobbies real hard but those hobbies still weren't enough to keep them happy. Those same grandfather's and uncles were consultants on projects of their fields. They dabbled in the area until death.

Imagine Steve not having to be responsible for the entire program. Imagine him not being responsible for running an offense. Imagine Steve at his own time and leisure breaking down film on the QB's mechanics, footwork, and how they read defenses. Imagine Steve nearby on campus close to those QB's.

We have one of the best QB coaches in the history of NCAA football on our campus with an office. He just can't but to help coach a QB.

SoS is the BEST.

Notice how the media laid off of him once he left UF and the Redskins and went to Carolina.

It wasn't high profile enough to ruffle the media feathers. I am glad he was happy there and I am glad he is back home.
