I think he’s going to hem-haw and name himself coach “until the ship is righted.”

Ole Johnny Majors is still alive, ironic because it was his heart surgery in '92 I think that gave Phillip Shoneys Fulmer the job. Everyone expected the Vols to tank but he guided them to a 5-0 or 5-1 mark.

Once Johnny came back and resumed coaching they began to struggle. The fanbase wanted Fulmer in and Majors was informed after the bowl game he would be relieved of his duty.

Phil was a UT guy and a Majors assistant before getting the gig he loved. Ended up winning a National Title in '98.
