... how much does the performance Saturday go toward putting us back in the hunt for some top tier guys on offense? I'm not suggesting that guys like Victor and Franks and NCM see us curb stomp a cupcake and immediately sign on, but I am wondering if, seeing how this offense is supposed to look, and can look against top competition when he have 4-5 star playmakers, has at least shown what we want to do?
I mean, under CWM, even against cupcakes, we always looked a little clunky and 'out of sync'...Almost as if, left to our own devices, we would sputter out on any drive, and were just 'hoping' we would be able to put enough positive plays together to score. Yesterday, it felt more like we were headed toward the end zone on every drive, and the defense was hoping we'd make a mistake or they'd happen to call the right defensive play or we were going to score. It just felt better, to me, anyway.
Again, I know you don't take a win over nmsu and decide we're all the way back and will be going to the playoffs, but I do wonder if seeing the philosophy, spreading the ball around, not to mention a lot of young guys playing, is at least kind of what those recruits in a "wait and see" position are looking for, at least for now, assuming CJM doesn't have a sudden change of philosophy?
