sadgator and sadgator jr. just happened to be in D.C. and attended the GW game. Cute little gym. Loud at the end. sadgator's ears are still ringing. You'll be glad to know gator nation was well-represented. If there were 5000 there 2000+ were gators. It was a pretty good showing. Too bad we couldn't stop that #21 dude inside.

The colonial dancer chicks were super hot. sadgator jr. was mesmerized. sadgator fears paying for a private education.

We should have never lost that game and of course playing on the road... and of COURSE they hit everything they shot up like everyone always does against us no matter who or the situation

So, what happened at George Washington?
UF 77 - 82 GW (+5)

Gator FG's - 28 of 65, 43.1% - okay, but not quite good enough shooting.
(vs UNF 51.5% & vs tOSU 45.3%, vs GWU 43.1%)

3 Pt - 7 of 24, 29.2% - very poor shooting from the arc.
(vs UNF 50% & vs tOSU 31.6% -- their's went in, our's didn't)
Making just 2 more 3 pointers could have won the game for the Gators....

FT's - 14 of 16, 87.5% - freakin' excellent!
(vs UNF 64.7% & vs tOSU 62.5%)

However, the Gator offense still scored 3 pts above (77) their season gm/ave of 74 pt.
Playing on their own home floor instead of the O'Dome, GW was just the slightly better (+5 Pt's) team last night.
Their best player (PF Tyler Cavanaugh 6-9 240 - 23 pts) had a much better night (4 of 5 from the arc), than our best player (PF DFS 6-8 220 - 9Pt's-8Reb's) who was 3 of 9 from the floor and 1 of only 2 from the arc. Tough night for DFS in his last game as a Gator,,, but chit-happens, even for the best of players....

While their PF Cavanaugh scored 23 Pt's, 8 Pt's coming in the final 92 seconds,,, jus-damn! I was not impressed with the officials foul calls, but that's been true for most of the season. I was glad to see Mike White get in the officials face a little bit, not that it seemed to help much.
And to compound matters, they had their (Kevin Larsen 6-10 260) center, while our (John Egbunu 6-11 255) center is recovering from season ending thumb surgery. Our true freshman center (Kavarrius Hayes 6-9 210) played well, but he doesn't yet have the size and so he got pushed around a bit in the paint.

High points for the game:
Freshman SG KeVaughn Allen - 22 Pt's, 4 Rb's, 2 Stl's, 1 Ast,
Freshman C Kavarrius Hayes - 14 Pt's, 6 Rb's, 2 Blk's.
Sophomore PG Chris Chiozza - 7 Pt's, 5 Ast's, 0 T/O's.
Junior PG Kasey Hill - 12 Pt's, 7 Ast's, 2 Stl's.
6th Man, Junior SF Justin Leon - 11 Pt's, 7 Rb's, 1 Stl, going 2 of 2 from the arc.

Coach White and his staff can certainly build on that last game for next season.
~ So long and good luck to DF-S in his B-Ball future, we'll miss him for sure.

While opinions will vary, my own outlook is that there's a bright B-Ball future for the Gators.

GW is a decent team. They are loaded with seniors and they beat Virginia this year.

I was there too! We live in Northern Virginia. GW's urban campus is kinda of cool. Not my thing, but cool none the less. Very expensive to attend.

10 bucks for tickets. Great deal. They even had a tiny bar in a room on the second level. It was cool experience.
We sat behind the backboard on the GW side. Only problem is the view was partially blocked. But hey, for 10 bucks what do you want...
