So, after 2 game here is my 2 cents. Hope you guys enjoy the read and my opinion. Ill love feedback with some of my fellow gator fans. Also is my assessment of the offense. The ECU game wasn't the worse thing ever. Actually that game was needed. UF isn't as good as they were against NM ST and they aren't as bad as the ECU game (M. Wheeler pointed out). As a coach, the hardest thing about coaching is that you get a new team every week. That's why its so important to find a way to win, then correct the mistakes. Everything from yesterday is correctable. I have faith that Mac will make the necessary corrections and take down Kentucky.
- QB battle; its time for Mac to pick someone. Its starting to affect the offense. We need a QB that can grow with the O line/backs/Wrs. I saw Grier struggle in the 2nd half yesterday and I seen Harris struggle for a whole season. I think Grier worst is better then Harris worst. Grier best is better then Harris best. I heard this said recently and I will relay it to you guys. "Mac cant hold 83 guys hostage because he is worried about the feelings of 2 guys". Each QB will struggle, its part of the game. Andrew Luck struggled today. Just got to find a QB that you believe can give you more good/great days then bad days.
- RB; To me Taylor needs carries so he can improve. I feel like he is still running like he did as a freshman. I don't see improvements in him (that's very concerning). The Jordans are young and they will be better eventually (I hope). 2 games in I cant judge them.
- WRs; Personally I don't like the rotation. Same as the QBs, Mac need to find a set of 3-5 guys that he plays constantly. The object is to get your best 11 on the field at al times. Grady isn't one of our best 11. If he is then that's sad because he wasn't one of Vandys best 11.
- TE's; I love everything I see out of them right now. Lewis is your seam/post guy, Goolsby is the flats/wheel guy and McGee is the underneath guy.
- O line; I think once Ivey gets back, we will be okay. That kid is a dominant run blocker. Moving Sharpe to the right side will improve it dramatically. I have my concerns about Dillard. I like Riles as a rotational guy right now, like Trip was last year.
