sadgator won’t believe another word from a Gators coach...

Not going to blame Mullen for the soft players but I think he needs to take some blame for calling the game like he is just trying to build Frank's confidence instead of trying to establish the running game early. This wasn't Charleston Southern or Idaho.

Florida definitely is the best shit talking team in the conference though...they are “champions” at that...

Tell me about it. So many of these players are unlikable. Haven’t accomplished shit but they’re always talking. Nothing got under my skin more than when we were driving trying to score down 21-10 and these idiots were trying to fight Kentucky while time was just bleeding off the clock. Mind you these are the same guys that show up to a fight with a frying pan, but they’re supposed to be tough. They’re the worst and not just because they aren’t good.

If he is going to invest in ‘building’ a QB then we should just be playing Emory.

One thing I will say is I believe Mullen has a much tougher task than the last two coaches becauae Meyer left talent, Chump just refused to use it and ran 160 lb, 4.4 guys between the tackles. Mac was handed a loaded defense and never bothered to try and build an offense. I tealize Mullen has a total rebuild after nine years of trash but if thats the case at any position we lack talent play the young guys and start moving forward

Why on earth would you all want Emory behind that shitshow of an offensive line? Mullen talked all offseason about the QB’s not being coached and Franks playing before he was ready, he’s not going to do the same thing for Emory. We can’t open up any holes which means the game is gonna be on the QB’s arm to win game after game. That’s not a winning recipe for any QB much less a raw true freshman whose weakness is passing.

Yep not having a defense to keep you in these games changes things a lot. Not sure how this QB stuff will end up playing out but if we were to lose to either Colorado State or Tennessee I am thinking Jones might be starting even prior to the Idaho game unless Trask really surprises people.I did see that QB in front of Trask in high school is doing pretty good at Houston right now.

Your guys can talk some shit with the best of 'em, but they can't dance like the Noles. Plus, you don't have a pretty pink turnover purse like we do.

D'Eriq King is a baller for sure.

Because I truly can't watch one more second of Franks play football.

I lost a lot of hope/confidence in Mullen when it was obvious that Franks was collapsing and he didn't make a change.

And I know it wasn't all Frank's fault, by any means. But I wanted Mullen to be like Spurrier and just bench his ass and put Trask or Emory in.

You know Spurrier would have done that.

Mullen has played 2 QB’s a lot. He didn’t make a change because honestly there wasn’t a second option at that point in time in the game. Think about it...what was the next move? Trask? Ok you have a guy who isn’t that mobile behind a jailbreak line. That ain’t gonna work. Jones? We’re behind two scores and can’t run...so we’re gonna put the game on his arm to win? That ain’t gonna work.

Face it, just like with other positions the depth chart at QB is a disaster. I wanted to just start Emory from the beginning but that was with the assumption we’d be able to at least run with our stable of backs. Charleston Southern pushed their shit in upfront. I don’t want Emory playing behind those idiots.

One of my favorite things about HBC is the way he held the qb accountable like every other position on the field. If he’s not doing the job, yank his ass out of there. If his backup sucks, yank HIS ass out there. All he needed was someone to execute his plan as if it were the Word of God.

But ooz...I cant watch him anymore. Make it go away.

I seriously don't know how you cope with Florida football while being a teetotaler.

In fairness to Mullen, Mac almost dropped the game to Kentucky last year. It was only due to a late error on Stoops' part that Mac escaped Kentucky by the taut skin of his ample teeth.

I recall Mac having quite a few "close calls" while he was at UF that probably masked how bad things really were.

Dude this is torture for me. As if the offense wasn’t bad enough Shannon comes in last year and ruins the only thing about Florida football I’ve enjoyed for a decade. And now this year because of their shit recruiting the defense might be even worse. So now I don’t even have that to look forward to. I’m miserable.

"Put simply, teams who win the title sign more four- and five-star recruits than two- and three-stars over the previous four signing classes.

This has been true for about as far back as modern recruiting rankings can be tracked.

It’s easy to think of the stat as the percentage of four- and five-stars signed by a team, out of total signees. Generally, teams whose signees are less than 50 percent blue-chips over the previous four years can’t be considered national title contenders."

What numbers have recent past champions posted?
  • Alabama won it all in 2017 with an incredible 80 percent mark.
  • Clemson took home the title in 2016 after signing 52 percent blue chips in the 2013-16 classes.
  • In 2015, Alabama had a 77 percent mark.
  • In 2014, it was Ohio State at 68.
  • In 2013, Florida State was at 53.
  • In 2012, Alabama was at 71,
  • Just as it was in 2011.
  • And so on.

2018 Blue-Chip Ratio Teams
Team Blue-Chips
Alabama 77%
Ohio State 76%
USC 71%
Georgia 69%
Florida State 67%
LSU 63%
Auburn 62%
Clemson 61%
Michigan 57%
Texas 55%
Oklahoma 53%
Penn State 53%
Notre Dame 51%

  • Miami is at 46 percent and has a poor 2015 class (23 percent) cycling off the books next year.
  • Texas A&M is at 44 percent and could sign a top-five 2019 class.
  • Florida is at 42 percent, and the poor 2015 class (24 percent) will be coming off the books. With a strong class this year, UF could get back above 50 percent.

FSU and UF coaching staffs are doing a remarkable job masking that talent.

You are spot on about the QB switch. They just couldn’t do it in the second half. We were still in the game, and he wasn’t playing THAT bad.

Bottom line is that our program needs a cultural reboot. Dan is probably the best guy to do it, but this is a much bigger project than sadgator realized. It isn’t going to happen over night. We just have to try to take it game by game and hope to see improvement. Enjoy every game for what it is, and hope we see positive changes taking effect...

Agree. At this point we should be watching to see if we’re better at the end of the year than we are now. That’ll be a sign stuff is getting corrected. That and recruiting. If we don’t get 5-6 high caliber olinemen and 4-5 high caliber dlinemen you’ll know we’re in trouble in the future.

Show us on the field. sadgator should know better, but he won’t believe one word about our team. Show us or shut up....

You sound like every person on Warchant.

Spring and Summer optimism fueled by coaches blowing smoke and websites selling clicks.

And then the team looks and acts just like last year.

Luckily I have the 2013 NC game on tape. Ahh the good old days.

sadgator took the bait, hook, line, and sinker. Everything was so positive, and sadgator desperately wanted to believe that we could just flip a switch and make it right. Then something like last night happens, and you’re like “oh, ok, we’re not even close.”

FACT -- Roster for Week 3 remains unchanged. o_O

Claim -- Players will EARN playing time with their performance.

iG -- Sorry, but I'm calling BS on that coaching claim and Sadly joining the blah, blah, balh.

I was lulled by the lack of penalties in the first game. I thought, an efficient team could mask a lack of talent.

This was before I realized that the thing we are most efficient at is missing tackles. Oh, and missing receivers. We are also quite efficient at misfiring passes.

Jus-damn, I kinda hate it when I have to agree with a Lizzy post... :p --- :D

Sure, cause I know more than you do by far, and you always act like you know more than anyone, including the coaches...

Yeah but you always claim that you'll trust the coaches but all of a sudden...Franks and Scarlett are still there and you're no longer on board.

Funny.

Frankly, you look worse than last year. But then, so do we.

Hey, misery loves company, so, welcome!

Change of staff equates to turbulence . We are lacking in talent ...and we think we are better than we are .. Chauncey Gardner? Going to be a rocky road all impatient Gators probably need to take a break , maybe go to the Abacos fishing. We will be back. All things cycle what goes down must come up!

I cant wait for our game....shit tqlking and dancing....we dont even need pads....all we did against va tech was dance...

can your team dance? Cuz if you can't, you're about to get em-barr-assed (z-snap) at Doak Thanksgiving weekend.

Sorry you’re upset SadTaters.
Maybe if you cheered up and tried to make friends you’d feel better.

2017 KSt 5-7, lost to 5-7 Colo and 5-7 UL. :D:D:D
But hey, they beat the snot outta D2 MontSt, and 1-11 NTx.

2018 KSt - Beat the S.Dak Coyotes by a FG, then got chit-kicked 10 - 31 by MsSt.

Maybe, just maybe, you should sit down and STFU, being a paper-pussy yourself...

Next up for the paper-pussy's, is UT-SA, so good luck with that power house... ;)

Oh, a Franks jock carrier is he? No wonder he's a clueless azzwipe.

Yep, sleeping often. I don't pay a lot of attention to him, or to several others here.
So, who is his college team, or is he just a HS dweeb? Whatever, he's mostly FoS imo.

But if he's just a HS kid, then I'll just throw him on ignore, giving him a break to finish growing up... ;)
