Sadgator…

Candidly, it didn’t play out the way sadgator thought. sadgator thought Florida would overwhelm them from the start…that didn’t happen…the defense was WAY too shaky and uncertain…but it rose up when it needed to.

Rising is a good QB and that was a good team. It was a quality win, but Florida has a LONG way to go to compete with the SEC teams on its schedule…

Our D line is awful. I was thinking 7-5 to start the season but we may be able to sneak in 9-3. Would be a great season considering Mullen recruiting wasn't the greatest.

The iG still says 9-3, or maybe even 11-1 if injuries don't visit them. 🤓

Of course the doubters and nay-sayers have a right to their WRONG opinions... 😁

Yes the Utah game was a good win but we aren’t going 9-3. No way! I would be shocked.

So would all of those that incorrectly predicted a UF loss to #7 Utah. 😉

Is LSU one of those teams that you thought UF would lose to?
FSU 24.......LSU 17
😂

I'm seeing 2 Gator wins there....

I'm calling 10-11 wins here. FSU and LSU look terrible. Call me crazy but just saying

9-3 for sure, with 11-1 a possibility.

I don't dare hope for any more, but 9-3 seems pretty safe right now, which is where I've been for a while already....

If we beat Kentucky, we should hit the 9-3 mark.

This team and coaching staff has moxy. Which can win you games and lose them. But if we do win 9-10 games? That would be a huge boost to recruiting.

This Florida team is not going 9-3. In addition to picking Florida over Utah since early spring, sadgator has warned everyone not to read too much into that game…it was a one-off stand alone event…

9-3 is within reach and I would say its likely with a healthy AR and a 4-0 start.

Bayou,

I don't see 10-11 wins; but, I didn't see us beating Utah either.

We were lucky to kepp Utah out of the endzone & win our opener. Our defense looked gassed at the end.

BUT we did win. Now we have KY. It's in the Swamp & I hope we have another sellout; we will need it.

KY beat Miami (Ohio) easily (37-13) & I doubt we gained much from the film of that game.

IMO, the closeness of our victory over Utah gives KY a much better look at us.

Not sure what to make of the FSU-LSU game; agree that neither one looked great; but a 1st game against a Power 5 opponent can have that effect.

As we found out with Utah, no such thing as an ugly win.

Improvement this week vs UK will be the tell, win or lose. If a good UK team beats us, then that's okay imo. If a bad performance UF team Saturday loses to a bad UK squad, then not okay.

Imo, we will not go 10-2 if Richardson doesn't grow in the passing game and more importantly, the D-line can't make improvements stopping the run. I believe Richardson will improve, but the D-line...

Who is Richards?

Ugly win? First time I heard that, everybody is talking about what a great game it was between two teams who really competed

Lots of "Buts" going on this post. Yes, it was an ugly W. Nonetheless, we''ll take it. And this group will carry that momentum into the UK game knowing their top gun Rodriguez, who got nailed for a DUI recently, may not play. There's strong reason he won't. Plus UK did not look all that impressive against UL-Monroe either, especially on offense. We can very well dominate Saturday.

It was not an "ugly" win.
Rodriguez suspension is an eligibility issue with the NCAA.
UK played Miami-Ohio, not UL-Monroe.
Yes, we can very well dominate Saturday

You must not have watched the same LSU game that I did.
LSU always plays us tough. Games are generally very close regardless of records. Just look at last year...who would have thought a team reeling with a lame duck coach would beat us and they did.

Who'd have thought a struggling offense would tear us apart running the same country-tray play and amass 250+ yards? An offense that sucked all year had their one shining moment against us. Thanks, Fat-Ass Grantham.

Everyone is overreacting to week 1…just sayin’…
Could not disagree more. This is a team that last year was in complete disarray, had quit on the coaches (only fair, as the coaches had also quit on them), had a culture in shambles, and then had to start over with a new offense and worse, swapping the defense from the 3-4 to the 4-3 (which requires kids with different skill set).

And what did we get? A team that looked poised, confident, in sync, and ran both the offense and defense with reasonable precision, to the point they beat a top 10 team with a long-time coach that had a lot of returning starters.

You know what LSU does against Utah? Think about their many mistakes and miscues against FSU, not just in the kicking game, but in the passing game and defense. They get blown out of the stadium by Utah. And they are the team that supposedly hired the experienced guy who has been there done that and knows just what it takes to get a team going in the right direction.

Teams usually have their largest improvement from game 1 to game 2. Yes, Kentucky is also going from game 1 to game 2, but UF has a much steeper learning curve and more of the playbook to install, so has a much higher potential for improvement. I am looking forward to seeing how good this team can be at midseason.

Grantham should had been gone after year 1. Had we had anyone else Trask last year we could have made the playoffs.

Same here, I hope they stay humble and focus.

Get the hell out of here with your logic, sir!
What do you know?!?!?, you’re just a little nub…

Not saying there isn’t reason for positive optimism…but the team everyone is gushing over literally could barely get lined up correctly all night on defense. Heck of a play on the int at the end, but they got extremely lucky to claim the W in that game…

Florida isn’t winning 9 or 10 games this reg season…they just aren’t…period…

We had problems getting lined up correctly on defense against Utah?? I don’t seem to recall that being an issue. Certainly not like under Grantham. I seem to recall lack of quality DTs and safeties on the roster as well as just depth as the main problem with the defense. We lose that game with Grantham as our DC.
With that being said I don’t think we have a great team either and there are still lots of questions but we certainly looked better than last year.

We were concerned about the D line and in the second half Utah exposed us. They pretty much ran at will. Fortunately for us it shortened the game. Positive news is that is a very solid and experienced team so it gave us some good game experience. Not sure if that will help with our depth issue, but we shall see.

Looked that way to sadgator…of course the bourbon may have interfered with sadgator’s perception…but there seemed to be lots of times the defense was talking to each other unsure of where they were supposed to be as the ball was being snapped…

and yes, defense under Grantham was just pathetic all around…
