RIP Lindy Infante

First of all. Condolences to the Infante family and close friends.

I suppose it's possible Infante could have been interested in a college job. However, his last college gig was as an assistant more than 20 years before 1995. After that, he was coaching in the Pros. He was the Packers head coach in the late 80's to early 90's and took the head coach job at Indianapolis in 1996. He was a very respected offensive coordinator in the league when he wasn't the head coach. I'm not saying Infante wouldn't have considered an opportunity at UF in '95...but that process never even got started as Spurrier didn't leave. The point being there weren't names being thrown around back then for Dooley to have "heard". ..whether it was Infante or others. UF wasn't shopping.

I could see him being a candidate during the pre-Spurrier coach searches when Pell and Hall got fired in the 80's.
