I actually agree with you. Part of the debt is from the hugh omnibus bill they signed in 2018 (I think it was 2018). Of course, Trump wanted less, wanted items separately, but ultimately caved to the Dems pressure and signed the hugh bill.
I will absolutely beleive Mark Levin. The US brings in over $300 billion a month in tax revenue. The debt servicing in only $44 billion a month, will right now. Of course the more they raise the ceiling and the more they borrow, they higher that payment goes.

Now the next debt ceiling would be about Biden spending, I'm ok with the Republicans asking for controlled spending then but this debt ceiling fight now is stupid and disingenuous.

You assume the Dems cave because it makes you feel better. Now you know that Trump was asking for a big bill with more money for direct payments and even tweeted about it. He also tweeted at McConnell for not spending more. Nothing about Trump was fiscal responsible. Own that he was big spender, just like the democrats. This cycle, you're fighting the wrong battle. Next debt ceiling fight is the one where you can scream at Biden but the fact that you're not mad at Trump about his big spending, shows that you truly don't care unless it impact the party you dislike. You obvisouly don't know me. I was pissed that Trump caved and signed the big spending bill (non-covid years). I was against all of the stimulus bills that were passed. I am not a true Repub. I am a Conservative and truely beleive that "big" government is the biggest problem this country faces. I want less government spending, less government hand outs and how about a balanced budget. Don't spend more then your revenue and STOP all this borrowing money. It's why I am a firm beleiver in Term Limits. It would help to weed out corruption on both sides of the aisle.

Never said anything about Dems caving. They never have too. The Rinos in charge of the Repubs do all the caving. Even when Repubs contolled the WH, Senate and the House, the Repubs didn't do anything because they were afraid the Dems would filibuster.
Of course, if the "stimulus" bills had truly been JUST FOR COVID RELIEF and not filled with all this pork, the spending would have been 1/5 of what it ended up being. Trump wanted to give $ to the people for relief because the Dems refused to open back up the country after the "two weeks to flatten the curve". I don't blame Trump for the pork. PELOSI made it clear that no stimulus without the pork.
