Per the Gainesville Sun:

Florida linebacker Matt Rolin missed the season opener due to injury and will be out for at least the rest of September, a source close to the player told The Sun on Thursday.

Rolin suffered a herniated disc during UF’s second scrimmage of preseason camp and has been non-contact since then, the source said. He is still practicing with the team.

Rolin had an Electromyography (EMG) procedure done Thursday for his herniated disc, according to the source. An EMG detects neuromuscular abnormalities by stimulating the nerve cells that control muscles and measuring their response.
