Removing Division Title Banners

Well, regardless of why they were removed, I didn’t have a problem with it until I saw that they were counting years like 2012 when we tied for he division but lost the tie breakers.

If you didn’t go to Atlanta, you didn’t win the division.

That was embarrassing.

But otherwise, I don’t really have a problem with acknowledging tangible achievements.

I guess to me losing to Alabama by fifty points leaves a sore spot about celebrating winning division titles.

We are not South Carolina or Vanderbilt, that may sound smug or condescending but Florida is a big boy program in a big boy league. I like it for the fact that Mullen has been going out of his way to declare anything short of a conference title is not banner worthy.

If any fans or more importantly players feel pride in those banners I get it. They worked hard and I thank them for getting to Atlanta, I just wish Alabama didn't make it so one sided.

Let's get some SEC and National Title banners to take up the newly opened space!

And I really don’t disagree.

I personally had no problem with the first in the SEC years because we DID win those.

And I was at best Luke warm about division titles. It’s okay to recognize going to Atlanta, it IS and accomplishment. But it is absolutely embarrassing to also include a few years that you had the same record but didn’t win the division and go to Atlanta and STILL list that.

That was embarrassing as all get out.

Sharing a division title and hanging a banner is worse than retroactively hanging a previously unclaimed National Title banner.

Almost as bad as UCF claiming to be National Champions, I hope they don't really hang a banner for that.

They pretty much have to. They went all in on that nonsense, even paying heir coaches national championship contract bonuses.

I actually like that. You are UF, no reason to celebrate division titles. I remember when we made state championship rings one yr when we didnt win anything. I was embarrassed

They paid their outgoing coaches money not contractually owed to them just to spite the system?

That sure is a wise use of money there.

Yeah, maybe USF or Florida Atlantic should they ever do that but not FSU, Miami or Florida

Apparently they went all in on the national title ruse.
That not only makes no fiscal sense at all but sets the next contractual clauses up to be confusing.

" Now Josh if you make it to a New Years 6 Bowl you will make an additional...."

Agent and Josh whisper to each other.

Agent:" Now what if we are worthy of a bid but get passed over? You know it's only the highest rated group of five right? Say Boise State goes undefeated and gets in ahead of us. We still get the money right ?"
