I like the fact that you have a new-found respect for W. I always liked him for his personal qualities, but as president he was average to somewhat below average.

Unfortunately liberals were pretty savage in their criticism of W. “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism” was the frequent refrain of liberals against W, but they descended to petty and personal attacks against him.

Unhinged conservatives returned the favor against Obama. I wrote my congressman and senators and wrote letters to the editor of the local newspaper in opposition to his policies.

The vitriol against Trump seems to reach new heights (or depths, depending on your perspective) on an almost daily basis. I think hatred of Trump says more about the psyche of the American people than it does about Trump.

I’ll concede Biden could very well defeat Trump in November, but I haven’t seen anything from him to suggest that he’s capable of uniting the American people.

Obama apologized for America on a world stage. Not a good strategy for winning fans.

Obama introduced some Marxist economic policies. Over regulation. Not conducive to robust economic growth.

His failures at foreign policy need no comment. Iran? Israel? China? Russia?

Trump does not apologize for America.

Trump deregulated in wholesale fashion.

Trump's dealings with Iran, Israel, China and Russia are different and not just slightly.

But looking back on it with current perspective of the depths to which the current administration had taken the office, sadgator realizes that W was a man of true faith, conviction, respect of all (including those who opposed his efforts). He did what he did, because he genuinely believed in it. He united us after 9-11 and he never preached hate like our current leadership does as if it is simply normal or accepted behavior...

sadgator would do anything to have another W in the White House right now...and the fact that sadgator genuinely feels that way should tell you everything you need to know about how low we have sunk...
