I watched the game last night against uk and finally was able to do so without going crazy. I have resigned to the fact that our coach is competent (although it is way too early to judge his long term viability), our players can play defense, they seem to be able to create opportunities, but we just cannot shoot. I know, I know, Captain Obvious here, but it is mind boggling how poorly we shoot. I am not sure how this happens as all of these kids had to be decent shooters growing up through high school, but wow, we should have won that game last night but as we all saw, cannot hit any kind of shot consistently outside of KA and Do Do.

The remainder of this year, we may win at Mizzou and get a win in the SEC tourney, but I expect a fairly quick exit from the NIT. The goal of basketball is to put the ball in the hoop and that is one thing we cannot do.

The future... Well, if Egbuno stays then we only lose DoDo. While a big loss, the key is whether the rest of the team learns how to shoot over the offseason. This has become a mental thing and hopefully something changes. As far as fresh blood, I do not fall hoops recruiting, but what I do know is that we should scour the country for some three point shooters (ala Humphries) and just get a couple guys that can shoot the ball. We also need to teach our point guards not to jack up three's. Shot selection is probably as bad as being able to make them. White needs to change the offense to what we can do and that is not shooting outside threes.

In closing, I think these kids tried their hearts out. I think While gave them a chance to win. We just cannot shoot the ball and our PG play is atrocious. Looking forward to the remainder of baseball season, track and spring football.
