So I can save u guys from a miserable off-season.

I'll start with the positives so the ledge jumpers don't actually jump.

OUR OFFENSE HAS BEEN TRANSFORMED

This is not the Urban Meyer spread where it is all about getting a highly rated prospect in space and allowing him to take his 1-on-1 match-up.

Look at McElwain's last and the way he has recruited.

Smash mouth football is coming and we are nearly completely ready.

We had a 205 lbs running back last year with the worse OL in the SEC. That is what McElwain had to work with.

Now that GREAT freshmen OL class will take their biggest leap in development going from their first to second year.

Both Fred Johnson and Martez Ivey will be severe upgrades over Mason Halter. Not even a contest is talent, size, or athleticism. Sharpe will improve. Tyler Jordan will be easily better than Guard we had this year and may even take over the Center position. IMO Buchanan and Sandifer are more talented than either Riles or Thurman.

The OL will be bigger, stronger, more athletic, and most importantly far more talented than last season.

And we're going from a 1-back system with a 205 lbs back who runs 4.5/4.6. To a 3-4 back system with a 240 lbs back running 4.4/4.5 (Thompson), 215 lbs back running 4.3 (Scarlett), Krite will probably bulk up 210-220 lbs range, and Perine is already 220 and I think ends up around 230.

We will have the ability to line up and smash defenses in the face.

Del Rio will be the QB.

Things he can do Treon couldn't.....

1. Adjust protection with his pre-snap reads
2. Call an audible if need be
3. Go through his progressions
4. Get rid of the ball quickly
5. Be accurate with the short passing game
6. Run play action pass
7. Run every play in the playbook

We also just signed IMO a QB with the most arm talent I have ever seen us sign with Franks. He needs to redshirt because he has a lot to learn, but he is smart and according to the coaches a hard worker.

We just signed the #1 receiver class IMO. We got size, speed, depth, talent, and versatility with this group and 3 of them are already on campus. Could not ask for a better receiver class.

1. So we now can play smash mouth football
2. We can run every play in the playbook
3. We can avoid coverage sacks
4. We can greatly improve completion percentage
5. We can execute the play action passing game
6. We have a AB that can adjust protection
7. We have a QB that can go through his progressions

Severe improvement is coming.

Now the negatives...

I'll keep this short and BLUNT

This defensive class was unacceptable.

I admit he found a few gems. We signed Thre 3 stars that I believe will be pretty good players.

Jordan Smith seems more talented and a lot bigger than when Alex McCallister came in and I think the comparison is warranted. He also graduated early.

David Reese on film and physique wise seems much further ahead of Morrison at the same stage. That is who I would compare him to.

E havnt signed a player like Moon in a long time. 6'5, long arms, 4.6 speed, good instincts, physical, and a natural pass rusher. If he bulk up to 235+ then there is no doubt in my mind he can be a star player with the help of Shannon and Collins.

Gardner will be a really good corner/NB.

Clayton has future all-American written all over him.

So IMO we found a better version of McCallister and Morrison (not bad players at all) a great LB prospect in Moon and 2 elite players on defense.

However, getting no highly rated or to be honest any real talented players at either safety or DT in this class is unacceptable. We also needed another edge rusher, 1-2 more good LB prospects, and a true elite outside corner prospect.

What is that 6-8 misses on defense?

Now we're so good on defense already that if we sign an absolute stud defensive class next year we will be fine, but we're talking so much talent we will be hands down a top 5 class just based off what we sign on defense.

So McElwain has a lot of work to do in recruiting in order to maintain this defensive excellence.

But give him kudos for the kicker and fixing the problems on offense.

I mean what did we make 47% of our FG tries and we stopped trying any tough ones have way through the season. An average kicker makes 75-80%.
We're pretty far off.
