Something that's always puzzled me since Tebow was stopped short against Miss.
If you have 3rd and 1 and you are going to run it -- why would you have a bunch formation of any sort? Like the Tebow play -- every offensive player on the field was jammed tightly together, which meant the entire defense was bunched together.
So you're basically creating a giant mass of players in one spot -- then asking the runner to run into it.
And yet I see this happen over and over in high school, in college and pros. I can not for the life of me figure out the logic behind it.
Why wouldn't you spread EVERYONE out as much as possible? Then the runner only has to run into one or two players.
For instance -- If we'd come out in the Emory and Henry -- I just can't imagine Tebow running into all that space and NOT coming up with a yard.
Again, I never played, so maybe I'm missing something. Anyone know?
Basically this...
