Never ever want to be one of those moral victory types, or one of the teams that lives for that kind of thing, but it's odd how one can feel rather good after the way we played in the championship game, despite the outcome. We walked into that game knowing how badly we played the previous two weeks, collapsing to garbage Tennessee in the 2nd half and then letting almost just as garbage LSU beat us at home on senior night breaking our 12 game home winning streak. Just about everyone had us pegged to get blown out by Bama at that point, including most every Florida fan.
To me it seems we are the only team that didn't just roll over and die on Bama the way they want you to and expect you to. How many teams scored only in single digits to them all year long and we gave them an actual contest, literally if not for bad clock management at the end of both halves, we might have possibly pulled out that upset.
Despite being a 3 loss team right now, I think we represented the East well and the SEC. Gave the country an actual contest to watch not a blowout. It's hard to imagine a 3 loss team staying in the top 10, and I don't expect that but how we played against #1 should go a long way for our final season ranking.
