The Gators and Mc-staff still have room to take an additional 2-4 recruits in the 2016 class.
NSD is just the first day that a LOI can be sent in, it's not the last day to do so.
So who, if any, might Mc-staff still add to the 2016 class, sometime in the near future?

Of the top 500 players listed in 247Sports' database, 18 have yet to sign a LOI. Here's a look at some of the more notable prospects who aren't locked in to a school yet for 2016.

=============

A 3-star Virginia WR prospect who held 17 football scholarship offers, according to 247Sports, Holloway has opted to focus on track for his college career. He'll run for Florida, per Jon Acree of Gridiron Now, with the possibility of playing football for the Gators in the future. "The track program is the ultimate reason I chose Florida," said the 6'2",190 Holloway. "They are one of the dominant schools in the sport. And they are giving me a chance to play football."

Even though he's on a track ship, IF he plays football, does he then count against UF's football ship count?
What if he skips football his Fr year, but then does both his Soph year??? Anyone know?

Jus-damn on the football ship, but thanks for the info BBB.
(the after-math of guys like the bear taking advantage of the old system I guess) :(

And in that case, I doubt that he plays football, but I'm glad to have him on the Track team. :)

That is exactly why that rule is in place. We have a few walk-ons who have earned scholarships that can likely be moved around if Mac wanted this guy to play football, so it's not out of the question.

The recruiting genius' at 247Sports had it 60% to UGA, only 20% to UF. WRONG yet again!

WR Grant Holloway 6-2 190 4.26/40

-- Watch his HUDI HS video.
(he's so fast that he can hit the light switch and be in bed under the covers before the room goes dark) :D

Lines up at WR and RB. Returns kicks. He's also a willing down field blocker.
I'm really starting to hope that this kid plays football for UF. He did have a fine list of offers from top P-5 programs, including Tn, Ole Miss and UGA.

Now, do a small study for us to prove the point that's attempting to be made in that article.
List just 2 things for just 2 teams that covers your links primary point.

SINCE 1990:
UGA's recruit class rankings vs UF's.
UGA's W/L record vs UF.
We'll wait....
(btw, UGA is UF biggest and best rival, not the criminole SoW)
===============

I'll give you that UF is 12-14 with SoW in their best span in their history, but UF still owns the All Time W/L with the Shameous Jameous criminole crew.... (as far as the 2 schools over-all Reps go, it's not even close) o_O

PS

And most (non-crims) will take into account that UF plays a rugged, season long SEC schedule, instead of just 'playing around' all season with the chumps in the Almost Competitive Conference, (formally the All Cupcake Conference).

According to an article in the AJC, the Gators won’t have as many needs to fill in the 2017 class. Why? Because they already addressed them with the 2016 class.

In McElwain’s first full recruiting cycle, the Gators had the core of their 2016 class in place by mid-December with commitments from 23 of their 25 signees, including a school-record 12 early enrollees.

(iG - those 12 EE's covered the loss of 5 early departure Juniors to the NFL combine and/or draft)

ED RB Kelvin Taylor 5-10 205 ***** Jr --- EE RB Mark Thompson 5-11 223 4.38/40 ***** Jr

ED WR Demarcus Robinson 6-1 204 --- 5-6 new WR's, 3 of them EE's, and 1 is a speedy JuCo xfer.

ED #1 CB Vernon Hargreaves III 5-11 198 --- EE #2 CB Chauncey Gardner 5-11 195

ED DE Alex McCalister 6-6 239 *** --- DE Jordan Smith 6-6 220 ****

QB Quandry: W.Grier 6-2 214 xfer & T.Harris 5-11 195 apparently switching to WR.
Replaced by 3 early arrival QB's, plus L.Del Rio 6-1 216 rsSo is now available:
F.Franks 6-5 222 Fr -- K.Trask 6-4 230 Fr -- and Grad-xfer A.Appleby 6-5 228

While other coaches spent the final two and a half weeks before NSD primarily on 2016 prospects, Florida was able to allocate time toward next year’s class. UF coaches visited more than 40 recruits for 2017 and 2018 in January. (early HS player evaluations vs recruiting service star opinions,,, trust the coaches) o_O

And just as I predicted back when some were complaining about Mc having to settle for to many 3 star rated recruits. ----- "Several of their early three-star commitments ended up becoming four-star recruits and/or getting pursued by other big-time programs after their senior seasons."

A recent question on Mc's hire of T.Gray was, can he recruit?

The Gators have handed out 11 scholarship offers — the majority of them by new assistant Torrian Gray — since signing day two weeks ago:

RB Ty Chandler, 5-11, 190, Nashville, Tn./Montgomery Bell Academy
ATH Markquese Bell, 6-3, 190, Bridgeton, N.J./Bridgeton
OL Aaron Banks, 6-5, 307, El Cerrito, Ca./El Cerrito
OL Netori Johnson, 6-5, 330, Ellenwood, Ga./Cedar Grove
DE Luiji Vilain, 6-3, 250, Alexandria, Va./Episcopal
DE Jordan Williams, 6-5, 245, Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox
CB Shawn Davis, 6-1, 190, Miami, Fla./Southridge
CB Amir Riep, 6-0, 180, Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain
CB A.J. Terrell, 6-2, 175, Atlanta, Ga./Westlake
S Xavier McKinney, Rosewell, 6-1, 170, Roswell, Ga./Roswell (Alabama commit)
2018 DB Chamarri Conner, 6-0, 183, Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian

UF's 3 2017 commits (QB-WR-OL) are already 4 star rated by at least 1 recruiting site.
