Through 4 games Gators have 34 penalties for 327 yards. Top ranked teams through four games-Alabama 27-208, Michigan 17-174, Clemson 30-265, Wisconsin 15-162 (includes one game with ZERO penalties), only Louisville has more with 36-348.
Through three games-Ohio State 29-208 and Stanford 13-96.

Lack of discipline and lack of toughness shows up when a team has their backs to the wall and needs to fight. This group has absolutely no discipline and it shows up in the little things.

I realize in years past this program was heavily penalized and still won but that was in the 90's and 10 years ago under Urban. Landscape of college football has changed with coaches like Saban, Shaw, and Harbaugh not only preaching discipline but it is who their teams are.

UF has always been the most penalized team. It has ALWAYS been that way! No matter who the coach was or is. Our best coaches in our history in Spurrier and Meyer even got penalized more than everybody else in the SEC.

How come Meyer's and Spurrier's teams got penalized more when they were coaching UF then at Ohio State and South Carolina?

Also everybody know Bama doesn't get penalized.

Penalities do hurt....but aren't shit when your PR trys to field a punt inside the 10 yard line...THREE TIMES.

When your two DB's run their mouth...but get toasted by Josh Dobbs.

When your OC quits attacking the young CB although he had already given up around 150 yards in the first half.

Penalities suck, but had nothing to do with this choke job.

I've been posting that same message for decades,,, and Mick even quoted it virtually word for word on air the week after I posted it a few years ago. ;)

With the stupid personal foul penalties you better be good enough to overcome them like we were mostly when Meyer was here and we got a bunch.

I don't mind penalties depending on what kind it is. A DB up in a receivers grill and gets an interference call? I can deal. A LB making a QB feel it early in the game a little bit after a throw? Cool, set the tone. Those are aggressive penalties. But we just get the dumb kind. A WR false starting when they look at the damn ball, an OL false starting on a crucial 3rd down, a DL jumping offsides on 3rd and 9 giving the offense a manageable down and distance, or a false start on special teams (I've never seen this before Saturday), etc, etc. Those are the kind that shouldn't be happening.

A damn false start on a punt is so uncalled for. I mean does one really and truly have to do more then step in the way for a second to impede the guys trying to block the punt? I mean the gunner is understandable but why would the guard or tackle even jump early? Same case for a field goal/PAT the team...and a freaking delay of game penalty from the punter(not counting trying to purposely move back 5 yards) when everybody is set. I mean are you really trying to read the defense or something?

Stupidity. All it is.

and it's obviously never going to end... it's a miracle we ever win anything with what we deal with.. we literally have to overcome this nonsense even when we play small schools AT HOME! The new AD better figure it out

Louisville still hasn't played against a team with a good defense, they are playing with large leads.

Does anyone have a good defense these days? It seems like college scores have doubled in the last five years.

Hard to believe that there was a game between LSU and Bama with a score of 9-6 as recently as 2011. Today, that would have been 47-31.

Did you miss the Muschamp years at Florida?
