In the last month or so, 4 people who I’ve been close with or have impacted my life have passed away. Cancer, absolute tragedy with a young friend of mine/collegue, coach/mentor fellow teacher. It’s been a rough month for sure. But 3 of these folks had one thing in common…their love for the almighty orange and blue!

I’m not saying all this for sympathy haha. Actually the opposite. I’m here to share triumph and hope.

I’ve been really teetering the idea if going to Utah…almost looking for a reason to go. My brother, who we watch every game together, spend hours planning Saturday tailgates and cookouts, is going, which really took the wind out of my sails as we watch most every game together and have a huge opening weekend bbq. Anywho, his best friend attended Utah for a year then came back to UF so he wouldntt stop bothering him.

One day last week, My wife said last week “you should go to the game with your brother.” I never considered going out without my family, but after the events that have happened personally over the last month, i booked my flight over the weekend, and will be with all the rowdy reptiles out in SLC in a 2.5 weeks! I’m grateful my wife basically pulled the trigger for me, and i know i will not look back on this as a missed opportunity to spend time with my brothers, and my best friend. Many of my posts have kinda spotlighted my love for bringing people together and it’s sad these folks are gone. But I’ll for sure be “pouring one for the homies” out in SLc and when i host my huge tailgate for Tenneseee (when 2 of the guys were gonna hopefully be there). Never miss out on an opportunity to spend time with those who you love, as all we got in this world when the dust settles is friends, families and those memories we can hold onto when they are gone
