I was proudly wearing orange and blue on Monday and stopped to look at a purchase for our house, and the salesman struck up a convo on the Ole Miss game. I said "It was a great game. It felt like the Spurrier days, or even the Urban years...although Im not a huge Urban fan."
Turns out his son played at UF under Meyer. He was very defensive of UM and apparently has an ongoing friendship. Said he was at OSU for a home game sitting with Shelley Meyer.
The reason for sharing this is he claimed to have been at a weekend lake party with Urban in ~2012 when Muschamp called UM on his cell. The conversation was around Janoris Jenkins failed drug test. Muschamp was asking Meyer "Do I have to cut him? How can I get around this?" The guy said Meyer convinced Muschamp to cut Janoris.
I found that to be humorous. I recall people saying the Muschamp was cleaning out all of UM's bad apples, and cleaning up the program etc. If this story holds, it looks like Champ did everything he could to keep JJ.
