Less focus on Tom Petty…more focus on tackling…

…it was really cool to see our players laughing and smiling down by 21 as they sang during the tribute….

sadgator was genuinely happy for them that they had such a fun evening….but…

we have lots of gimmicks as a program…we definitely need to spend some time on the “football” part…

"...Had time outs in his pocket and let it run down from 9 seconds to 4? Even though it was 4th and 1 still had time for two quick plays with the time out. That was an abortion."

"... At least once a game, it seems like there’s a legitimate question to be made about Napier’s decision-making.

In many of the Gators’ earlier contests this season, rationale could be given for Napier’s tough calls, but on Saturday night,

it was tough to understand why he chose to run the clock and not go for a score while trailing 28-21 with 2:17 left in the first half and the ball on the UF 27.

Florida did run some plays, but Napier sat on his timeouts and allowed the clock to tick away. Ultimately, UF tried a Hail Mary from the LSU 44 with 1 second left. If Napier had used his timeouts earlier, the Gators likely could have setup for a long but makeable field goal by making another play or two.

Napier explained that the Tigers getting the ball to start the second half put him in a position where he did not want Florida to fail on three plays, punt the ball back and give LSU an opportunity to score again before halftime. And that does make some sense given UF’s inability to get stops in the first half.

However, given the flow of the game and the fact that the Gators moved the ball early in the drive, it was surprising to see them stand there and let the clock run down when points could have been scored."

What would SOS have done ?

Anyone remember going for the win in the 1993 KY game ?

At least 3 pass attempts; finally connecting on 4th down !

Wuerffel found walk-on wide receiver Chris Doering in the end zone with three seconds left to help the ranked Gators escape, 24-20, and that touchdown pass ignited Wuerffel's dominant career.
Listen to Mick Hubert's call

I don't buy that excuse he made for not putting UF in position to make a fg. What's that saying? Dont play scared?

That's exactly what they did.

Plus, as much as Napier is supposed to be making AR more confident.....its like saying, "I don't trust you to get 4 yards. Let's just do à garbage throw towards the endzone and see what happens"

I know such mentality is not limited to Tebow and Spikes, but they are à good example that they would never be "joshing it up" at that moment.

Although it seems Napier has cracked down on some on-field blatant attitude and antics.....the mentalités may still be the same.

We need new players.....a changing of the guard, so to speak, for perhaps much of the team(not all).
