Odd guy and actor dead at 85

I was not a quatum leap fan. But I did like his roles in the Dunwich Horror and Dune. These movies take place in what I would call "odd" universes.

He was IMO rather odd looking and that also made him stand out.

I always get him confused for Darrin McGavin who was Koljack: The Night Stalker and the dad from A Christmas Story.
