the faith has 1B adherents, not necessarily to this pope’s thoughts. The pope is considered infallible when making an official statement (ex cathedra) of Faith and Morals, and that is only allowed after an ecumenical council, which has always outlasted the life of that pope. Last time a pope spoke ex cathedra was 1870.
Note, he’s not infallible with respect to economic systems ..... and certainly not with this opine
