I spoke with DE's Markaviest Bryant and LaBryan Ray this evening. Here is a brief recap of what both had to say....
Bryant was planning to visit UF this past weekend but wasnt able to make it due to his ride falling through. He says he hasnt visited Gainesville since last year, but grew up a big fan of the Gators. He said he definitely wants to get back this season and mentioned the LSU game as a possibility, he said he wanted to attend a big night game. He said his top schools currently are Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia and USC is also in the mix but really outside looking in. He said Florida has been coming after him very hard with Chris Rumph and Geoff Collins leading the charge and also Jim McElwain in contact via text message. I think Georgia is the team to beat currently with him taking quite a few visits there over the last few months, but he knows a ton about the Gators past success and mentioned a lot of former players he know about. I think Florida has their work cut out, but if they can get him on campus a few times it could be interesting. He said he may visit Auburn this weekend for the TAMU game.
As for Ray he said he knows three schools he will officially visit (Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee) but doesnt have any dates penciled in yet he is trying to decide if he wants to do visit in season or post season around Dec/Jan. He will unofficially visit Ole Miss this weekend for the Alabama game. Ray noted that he felt the Gators were turning up their efforts with multiple coaches in touch with him daily. He said he has a top 6 (Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi state, and Tennessee) and feels like all 6 are after him equally hard. He mentioned wanting to come to UF for the LSU game but wasnt sure if that would be official visit or unofficial visit. I think Alabama has the edge, but he wont admit it, and says he wants to take multiple visits before making a decision later in the process.
