Hasn’t been the easiest gathering info because the scrimmage occurred late Friday night and the practice was closed to primarily coaches and players, but here’s what we’ve got so far…
--Overall, it was a smooth performance by newly named starting quarterback Luke Del Rio, who moved the first-string offense well and avoided committing turnovers. A few other standout names on the offensive side of the ball were Antonio Callaway and Dre Massey, who scored once again Friday after logging two touchdowns in the first scrimmage.
--It was another strong outing for kicker Eddy Pineiro, who was perfect on all four of his field goals and booted all of his kickoffs out of the end zone for touchbacks. His long for the evening came from about 55 yards out. Pineiro’s first scrimmage also notably went well, as he went 2-of-2 and made all of his PATs last Friday.
--Jalen Tabor and C’yontai Lewis (suspension) did not participate in the scrimmage, while Duke Dawson was limited. C.J. Worton (foot) and Chris Thompson (leg) were also sidelined, giving Florida’s younger wide receivers an opportunity for more quality reps. However, Callaway and Ahmad Fulwood continue to work as the starters while Massey and Powell alternated reps with the 1’s.
--Offensive tackles Kavaris Harkless and Andrew Mike (hamstrings) did not participate as well, letting Florida experiment with some different combinations along the line. Some of the players in recent practices who have received some time at the tackle positions in wake of decreasing depth at offensive tackle, including Martez Ivey and Brandon Sandifer, saw looks there as well in the scrimmage.
We'll include any more new info that we hear in this thread.
