Sitting out the last 4 games then transferring out of SOW.

Gotta say he is a tough dude. Our Defense sacked him plenty of times but failed to snap him in half.

Terry & Wilson too. Wow

Yep. Wilson is hurt, had surgery, best to just shut it down. Terry got hurt about 4 weeks ago, had surgery and tried to come back this week but did not look like himself. No reason for him to play anymore, we are a 2 win team and hes hurt lol What a yr. Glad slim is gone..... His final drive sums up his career. Sayonara

You had me at 2-win team.

I originally thought the Stick Man QB was in his final season till I realized the French QB pretty much took just about every snap in 2018, thus assuming Blackmon redshirted that year.

I'm cringing at my own thought of once rating Coach Cornrows ahead of Dan Mullen as the next coach to replace Butters McElwain.

@TJtheGator
It took me a while to figure out who stickman is.:oops:

I don't think Norvell is a bad coach.

I do think it's telling that his first real big time offer was to an FSU team that was in utter turmoil and scrambling.

Maybe it's the gambling rumors, maybe it's sheer reluctance to believe in him when he rode the coat tails of Fuente (aka Butch Jones and Brian Kelly).

I think what we're seeing at FSU right now is similar to what we saw at Florida when Meyer left.

Tons of talent that turned out to be head cases with an unearned self-worth. A broken program, if you will. That's why Jimbo checked out just like Meyer did.

We at least hired a guy (yes. I know many of you think he's the worst) who could coach defense and recruit that side of the ball like crazy. Bad scheme offensively with the talent provided.

FSU, on the other hand, publicly made a decision to hire a mediocre at best coach because he was black. And promptly fired him a year and a half later. Now this poor schmuck is expected to turn it around and my god if the response from the players doesn't tell you that I'm at least mostly right, you're missing the point.

FSU should have just promoted and hired Haggins. Would have been cheaper than the Willie fiasco. If it didn't work out, it would have given them time to do a more thorough coaching search than just grabbing some guy with a losing record in really suspect (ok, shitty leagues). But in their haste they grabbed "lethal simplicity" Willie and then had to grab someone, anyone to replace him. It really had nothing to do with color, just a shit tiered resume. I admit I kind of miss their metrosexual reward chains to hang their necks on the "few plays worth celebrating".

Sorry to my Null friends, I haven't taken any shots at you lately. :p

Not disagreeing, but didn't they make it public they wanted to hire a black guy?

Which is weird considering Havgins whom the players loved.

Yep.......that's kind of what I was insinuating without just coming out and saying it out loud. The players love that guy. They probably would have played hard for him. It might not have worked out, players loved Zook too. If it didn't work out, would give them time to do a better search.

To be fair, they didn’t hire him because he was black. He was a fairly sought after coach and it’s not like they had anyone better on their radar at the time. The rest of your post I agree with 1000%. They got to coast by for way too long bc the acc sucked and bowden kept the same staff. Once they started having to replace coordinators they started having trouble. Clearly some nole sold their soul for 2013. That’s the only way to explain it. Aside from a couple fluke years when the rest of college football sucked and the sh*t floated the the top, its been a fairly consistent downward trajectory. The chickens are coming home to roost, my friends. They’re going back into mediocrity where they should have been had not someone over there decided to utterly destroy their integrity for some success at football. We’ve seen programs devolve into mediocrity. There’s no reason they can’t. Miami has been pretty mediocre for most of the past decade and a half. Same with Nebraska and Colorado. There’s no decree saying they ever have to get better. This is where they belong and where they should atay

No. We legit hired him because he was black. We limited our pool to skin color, it was like a photonegative of a 1960s hire. Based on that qualifier it was Willie, Charlie Strong, or Dino Babers. We should have gone after Babers if we were going to use a racist criteria. We took a Jimbo mess, exacerbated it by hiring on racist principles, and the dude that made the criteria and hired Willie bolted before Willie’s first kick off. We have a long time to go before we get our house in order.

I thought at the time, and I still believe (I mean, without any evidence this is true, it's just my own thinking) that FSU wanted a coach of color because they were afraid they would be called racist for not hiring Haggins (who had been there forever and the players love) and hiring a white head coach. By hiring a black coach, then not hiring Haggins was a much smaller deal.

But saying that, it was all about perception. The reason FSU didn't want to hire Haggins as head coach was because he had no experience. I mean, he's a DL coach, never even been a coordinator. Yes, in hindsight, he couldn't have done any worse than Taggart, but obviously nobody knew that then.

Terry & Wilson too. Wow

I thought, if FSU lost to Jax State and started 0-6 then during the bye week before Pitt we would see Terry and Wilson close it down. But they managed to win two games, so it didn't happen until after the Pitt game.

WIlson was stupid to come back. Terry was smart, so many great WR's came out last year, he would have been a 5th round pick. This year, I'd say 2nd round. I'd love for him to slide to the top of the third round and go to the Jags. A new WR for a new QB.

Yes they did. Had to be a blk guy for some reason.... Which im not against if the guy is good.. Hell at this point id hire a wash woman if should could get me to 3 or 4 wins

I am suspecting that Tennessee will be getting rid of their 'head coach' not at the end of this year, but most likely at some point before the end of the 2021 season. Mr. Potatohead is generally good for 3-4 wins each season.

Normally I’d agree with everything you said, but no one is ever smart for going to f$u, whether it’s going back or being dumb enough to go there in the first place. No one should have come back bc no one should have gone there. That said, I hope a few other noles run and hide before the great Clemson blowout in a couple weeks.

I could probably argue with you over who's hates the Noles more, but your username says it all.

I get where you are coming from. I do. Other than the fact that to me UGaly is Public Enemy #1 ahead of FSU, we see eye to eye in the hatred of FSU.

Having said that, Terry was already a Nole. He'd already made that terrible life decision, which certainly cost him a shot at being a first round WR, because he is very talented, just undertrained and lacking in a QB to throw him the ball so he could show his capability. So now, the best option remaining to him was to escape the 2020 draft, which was wall to wall elite WR's. If he was a graduate, his best move would would have been to transfer, well, almost anywhere. Not a graduate, he kinda had to go back to FSU. Best of a bunch of bad options.

But hey, he's now an object lesson to WR recruits: Don't go to FSU. So, there's value in that.

Teams have no patience anymore. I remember back when we would form "Gators for _______" clubs for any coach we beat 5 years in a row. Of course, we used to win a lot more often back then.

Terry didn’t have a lot of great options. Looking back he probably should have just gone pro. The FSU offense has gotten even worse. I didn’t think FSUs offense would be this bad since Norvell is more of an offensive minded coach

The Clemson- FSU game wont be played, FSU will have a massive virus breakout the week of the game

They arent shutting it down tho they both had knee surgery

Sounds like to me they are shutting it down. Terry came back and played last week. He’s realizing the more he plays the worse damage he is doing to his draft stock because FSU can’t get him the ball. Wilson is a little more serious but he just committed to play in the Senior Bowl so it must not be that serious of an injury.

Did you watch Terry play this last saturday? He was visibly limping. Not 100%. No reason for him to play hurt. Wilson had surgery 2 weeks ago and is out 6 weeks which is the end of our season. If both were healthy, both would be playing.
