MSU goes on a 12-1 run over the last 3;12 to lead by 5 at the half. Mike White's decision to go 3 guard lineup the last 4 minutes blew up on him. Strange decision.

Miss St went on the run to close the half as soon as he had Kasey Hill on the floor and doing the ball handling. He shouldn't even be a backup PG. In the last 3-4 minutes of the half he missed 2 shots, got beat on defense (Miss St scored), committed a foul (Miss St both made FTs). The last layup he blew Miss St converted into a 3 pointer. He accounted for 0 points for UF and was directly responsible for giving up 7 points. He hurts the team more than helps it.
For some reason he has attempted more shots than anybody on the team in the first half. This is coming from our backup PG that can't shoot. Make absolutely ZERO sense to me.

Not a lot of talent on this team. A few solid players and the potential in Allen to be a very good player but with PG play like we have your never going to be consistent. And then throw in some poor coaching decisions and this is what you get.

Until the PG play improves this team isn't going to get any better. And I don't see Chiozza or Hill ever figuring it out.

Chiozza leads the league in assist to turnover ratio right now.

You sure about your opinion there?

We are behind by 9 with 15 minutes left.

Not sure we have it in us to pull this out.
Ahead by eight with 5 minutes left.

Great comeback so far, if they can hold out to win.

If this team has any prayer of making the tournament, this is a must win game

Chiozza is on the bench most of the 2nd half becuase he's been just as bad if not worse than Hill

Chiozza one of our best players? I'm not sure I agree with that. I would most definetly take DFS and Allen over him and probably Egbunu as well.

If he was one of our best players he wouldn't be on the bench as much as he was tonight. He wasn't even a starter at the beginning of the season and now he's one of our best players?? LOL. Where was he tonight at the end of the game?

I never see DFS, Allen or Egbunu on the bench at the end of the game even when they are struggling.

Hill was really good tonight. Cheez struggled but he's been good most of the year. DFS was awesome tonight. Allen great on the offensive end but really struggled on D. Got down 11 and fought back for the win....nice effort. Oh, and and big E had 4 straight made FT's down the stretch.

I don't think I would say Hill was good tonight. He was just better than Chiozza and kept Chiozza on the bench the majority of the 2nd half.

Let's look at the stat lines shall we?

Hill 4 assist, 2 turnovers, 4 points, 3 rebounds in 26 minutes
Chiozza 5 assist, 3 tunrovers, 3 points, 1 rebound in 21 minutes

Hill had the better game...barely.

This was a normal game for Hill. This was a bad game for Chris.

Calathes averaged 6.4 assists per game. Chiozza is at 4.3. He's got a long ways to go. Chiozza isn't going to average more APG than Nick.

Gators won - That's all that matters. Every game is a challenge. While we lead the SEC in lowest turnovers, it's become more of a problem lately. And poor free throw shooting keeps us from padding leads. They shot 3's extremely well tonight and I'm just glad for the win.

Well, good for Hill. He was good on defense most of the game. 4 asst to 2 turnovers not bad. And 1 of those turnovers not sure was completely his fault.

Yea, but he threw up several prayers that were TOs in all but the technical sense.

I am rewatching the game right now.

The team is terrible with him at the helm

I am also happy for the win.

But it was a close win at home against a terrible team.

I may be wrong but pretty sure we made our comeback in the 2nd half with him playing the point. Hill was terrible in the first half but serviceable in the 2nd half. Chiozza was bad most of the night.

There's no JWill, Taurean Green, Nick Calathes or Scotty Wilbekin out there playing PG for us.

You could watch the game on endless loop. It won't change the fact that you don't know what you're looking at. The team went from down 9 to plus 8 when Hill came in for Chiozza in the second half. Chiozza came in, turned it over and got beat the other way for a layup to cut it to 5, and Hill played the rest of the game. If Hill had made that play, you would have taken out ad space in the Gainesville Sun to complain about it.

Chiozza is usually better than that, and neither pg was very good, but all White wanted them to do is get the ball down low, which they did a decent job of doing. Our bigs beat the hell out of them.

What facts? Chiozza is not on pace to break Calathes APG single season record.
That was not my argument. I said Chiozza is one of the best players on the team. You took issue with that.

In SEC play, Chris is averaging 6.7 assists a game and just over 1 turnover a game. His overall assist/to ratio is the highest in the SEC.

He had 5 assists and 3 TO last night. That is a bad night for him. But if he did that all year, it would still put in the top ten PGs in the SEC.

Listen, you and I have gotten off on the wrong foot this year discussing basketball. In past yeart, we have had some good basketball discussions so I consider this year to be an aberration. I acknowledge my role in that rancor and apologize for it. That said, I have an opinion about Hill's performance that you do not share. As well as some of White's coaching decisions. That is fine. We do not have to have the same opinion about the performance of a player or the performance of the coach.

OK, fair enough. Suffice to say I think some of the criticism of Hill has been unfair. Hill plays hard and, from all reports, his attitude has been team first after losing his starting job. I pull for him, because he was a significant contributor to a final 4 run, and he has rare physical talent. I don't know too many NCAA point guards that can take it the length of the floor and flush it like he did last night. People were on here hoping Patric Young would go to Europe after his junior year, so it shows you that sometimes patience pays off.

I think this team has more talent, or at least better athletes, than their results so far, but I like a lot of what I see out of Mike White. The team competes hard, and they look like they know what they're trying to do in the halfcourt. I'm impressed that he benched Hill when he thought Chiozza was a better fit for the starting 5, and I like that he leaves his players on the court when he's got a mix that's playing well.
