Per the governments own internal data 89% of all gun crime is committed by individuals who obtained their gun "illegally"...most of whom are convicted felons who commit crimes with weapons they cannot legally posses.
Guns bought with CC still have to go thru the FFL/background check system so there will be no effect on the legal gun purchaser.
They are going after the sources of funding here. They are also pressuring UPS and FedEx not to ship.
For years I was told the NRA was evil...that the left just wanted common sense gun laws. If you follow any of this for the past couple years you know the sheep's clothing is now off.

No, this is more about having a list of everyone who buys a gun legally, even those their OWN data shows that most gun crimes, the gun was obtained illegally. How many of those illegal were purchased with a credit card??
 
From the dawn of civilization, tyrannical governments have attempted to disarm their subjects...which is precisely why our constitution guarantees our citizens the right to bear arms.

BTW, historically speaking, just after the weapons seizures, those subjects are in for a rough time.

They are going to use this to control what you and cannot buy. Your 'social score' will dictate that.
Got a Gadsden Flag as your avatar on your Rivals account they will shut down your ability to purchase items in a particular category.
In the short term look for the credit card companies and the underlying banks to refuse payment to merchants within the particular category. Plus you are correct it will be used to create flags...oh I see Mr BCSpell just spent a couple grand at the gun store over the past few months...lets go see why.
