I will be brief but more to come afterwards. In 2015 after the latest setback in my business, suspension of part of a contract while a client did some reorganizing, I began planning to get my financial house in order.

It was my largest client and the loss in revenue brought us near the point of bankruptcy because we had extended our credit to the breaking point and cash flow was good until then. Because cash flow was good I had ignored our financial situation even though 2008-2009 exposed our weakness. Soon after the election of zer0 I began studying in more earnest ways to escape the enslavement we call the income tax. The defaults accelerated the need to fix things and in doing so while still in debt we have been able to have cash flow return while living on one income.

1. )My business is shut down
2. ) I ran a non-profit last year and part of this year
3.) I spent a lot of time improving the house and working in the garden.

Very little of my labor went to anything taxable. I am working on freeing my wife from the servitude as well.

We hope to transition to online work and eventually use part of her retirement to buy rental properties and let someone else's labor pay our taxes while giving us an income in retirement.

What comes in later posts is the game plan to escape socialism claim on my time/life/labor. Should Trump lose which is more likely after today's abdication of duty by SCOTUS.

....the enslavement we call the income tax.

Good golly...talk about dramatic...As someone who has worked almost every day for the past 34 years and currently busts his ass 13-15 hours a day, sadgator personally finds that characterization offensive...

somebody’s got to pay to fix the roads, collect the garbage, and buy the F-22’s to keep us safe...

sadgator is more than happy to do it...and sadgator feels blessed to be able to work as hard as he does to contribute...sadgator is one of the millions and millions of grateful nameless-faceless people actually busting their asses to make America great...and sadgator will die under his desk one day doing so...it’s part of the deal...

good for you but I am working on opting out while I am young enough to enjoy what time I have left.

I am in a state with no income tax. I gladly pay my sales tax without complaint.

A brief example of the possibility of opting out:
In the extremis living on a house boat without means of propulsion would avoid property tax and boat licensing. Undocked you are living free. Row boat and bicycles for tax free transportation.

Have you heard of Belize? No income or property tax for retired persons over 45.

Just sales tax.

Option c, d, e or f as I do like living in 'Merca.

It’s funny when someone who refers to themselves in the third-person calls somebody else dramatic. Lol

Damn you're a lucky man!

Sounds like you’re letting the cart drag the horse. By all means, reduce your taxes by as much as legally possible. But remember, it’s not just about the amount of taxes you pay but the net amount you earn after taxes. A lot of poor people don’t pay any income taxes, are they free from servitude? Taxes do not equal socialism.

Do as you wish, but I’ll continue to work on both increasing my top line while working to minimize, but not eliminate, the amount of taxes I pay.

PS. Online income is taxable.

Hahahahaha. Hilarious.

Righties suck at humor. That’s why there are no good Conservative comedians.

I have more than 1 goal and will work on them all. Note you will see I used the word labor.

I do not consider income from investments labor. I am lowering my output to maintain a comfortable lifestyle while hoping to increase my inputs via means other than labor.

The online income is a transition tool from my current semi-retirement to a time where both I and my wife are retired.

An income tax was one of the tenets of socialism/communism/collectivism. Its why I advocate for the Fair Tax. Create a fair tax and I will gladly pay the 23%.

As a quick example a gallon of milk @ 2.5 today before tax and 2.75 here in TN after tax would theoretically be about 2.23 before tax under the Fair Tax and revenue neutral after. Some say maybe a couple of percent higher so lets say 2.8. I would pay a nickel more for milk and on everything else to get rid of the 16th amendment.

More to follow

The Fair Tax makes a lot of sense until the special interests start getting involved, making exceptions for favored industries. Are you willing to pay taxes on home purchases? Do away with Mortgage Interest deduction? Charitable Contributions? The real estate industries, luxury products, and charities would be shattered.

Your milk example is incorrect, by the way. It doesn’t seem like much until you have to pay $14,000 taxes on a $50,000 car, $140,000 on a $500,000 home, in addition to your state and local taxes.

And I’ve read that the rate would have to be closer to 31% to make it revenue neutral. The effect would be to discourage spending and investment, thus harming the economy. Any serious study of the Fair Tax shows it has major flaws.

Love how the sheep is offended by the word 'enslavement', then freely admits he will have to work 15 hours a day for the rest of his life and die doing so.

That's the definition of enslavement. When you're a dem, that's part of the deal.
