Yes, I will concede that Jim McElwain is more familiar with the situation than myself or anyone else on this board and he has more riding on the outcome than any of us. Having said that, I don't see how he still isn't able to name a starting quarterback after the events of this past week.

I don't understand how they can both still be considered even.

First, and it is just me, as I wrote in another thread, I believe Treon Harris should be (and would be if it were my decision) eliminated from the race to be the starting quarterback because he can't be counted on to make the right choices off the field.

He himself has proven that in his two years on campus.

Putting that to the side though, while Will Grier is far from a finished product and certainly needs to work on some things, including his pocket presence, but after the way he played in the fourth quarter to bring the Gators back from certain defeat he has earned the right to be called the outright starter.

Now, that doesn't mean that he can't ever be pulled and replaced. To me though it does mean that he deserves to be the starter and afforded somewhat of a comfort zone of not having to look over his shoulder. He shouldn't have to be worried about being pulled for a mistake or two.

I believe that will only help his confidence as Florida begins this back breaking four game October stretch.
