Mullen hires Kerwin Bell

Insta, Ocala, Trinity, who was it that was praising Kerwin a few years ago when we needed a new coach? Well, you must be happy now, eh?

I have always been unsure as to what an analyst could do with respect to coaching/teaching players.

Saw this on 247; hope they have it right !

...As an off-the-field analyst he will be able to help Florida's coaching staff look over game film, adding an extra set of veteran eyes to the offensive meeting rooms. He'll also be able to help teach -- presumably UF's quarterbacks -- in an off-the-field capacity."

Not exactly sure what an off-the-field coaching session is.

Hopefully, UF will be like Bama & push the envelope in this area.

Thinking that Anthony Richardson could be his first pupil.

Note from Rivals & others -
Kerwin Bell is indeed joining the #Gators as an analyst, our @TBTimes_Bulls reports. But Charlie Strong is still thinking about it (or was as of yesterday morning) https://www.tampabay.com/sports/gators/2020/01/31/former-usf-offensive-coordinator-kerwin-bell-headed-back-to-gainesville-will-charlie-strong-follow/ …

When Muschamp was here a lot of people were hoping he was hired as the new OC.
I believe after Muschamp gets fired at SCAR following the 2020 season (or in the middle of it, hey I can see that happening) he will be Georgia's #1 target for their new Offensive Coordinator to replace the-guy-that-failed-to-do-any-better-than-Coley.

Muschamp as the OC?? That would be interesting indeed.

grommit,

Are you referring to William Lawrence Muschamp, HC of Univ South Carolina ?

The head coach who can not even spell offense, much less coach it ?

The Head Coach who can not even count offensive linemen accurately ? (Left shark boy 6 OL, but he was working on balancing the roster !)

Just wanted to make sure we were speaking about the same Muschamp before I gave Kirby my unqualified endorsement !

I would have to assume that it's film work either looking at opponents or looking at tape of themselves, but I had thought that only so many coaches could have contact with players whether on or off the field. Plus I would be surprised if one handled the film room and another the field. Could be a disconnect there.

It's also not complete without this. Remember, he was out with a leg injury until this point.

Disagree it is a triple fail, though:
Fails are spiking into his nut sack and getting pushed by #21;
Wins are a TD and taking out #13.
Winner Kerwin.

True, I don't see it as a triple fail either (I assume the guy who made the gif is referring to him getting a closeup view of #13's ass).

I've seen a couple of Bell interviews (one a video, the other a print article) where he discusses it & laughs about it; said he sometimes brings it up in recruiting & at practices when he was a head coach they'd goof around sometimes practicing TD celebrations "so they don't end up like Coach." Good to see someone who has a sense of humor & can laugh at themselves.

It was me, I wanted Bell for our OC back then, but McLame 'screwed the pouch' yet again, along with his constant flow of retread QB's...

Kerwin Bell, on 1 1/2 legs, limping to the end zone and somehow running over a linebacker to score the winning two point conversion. It could literally be a movie. We had good seats, for the student section, that day.

The high fives, there were so many.
If I recall Ricky “the Rocket” Nattiel popped his shoulder out of socket and went to the sidelines and had it popped back in and went back out there and made a bunch of big catches. He was one of my favorite Gators too.

Huge pick ups by Mullen...might be coaches in waiting but Strong and Bell are big time hires. It's more proof in the pudding about the HBC and his relationships.Strong and Bell as annalists? F*&k yeah!
