I guess the Mighty Gators have not been winning enough lately to be hated. Or maybe most people naturally love the Mighty Gators, win or lose;

I lived in Atlanta for 11 years. Guess I just assumed they were the local favorite by volume.

I think Atlanta boasts the most number and the biggest foreign booster clubs of any city in the southeast. Given it is one of the biggest cities in the southeast, if not the biggest, that should not come as too much a surprise.

I'm guessing they are the local favorite but their fans are probably split among their most hated team (UF, Tennessee, GT, etc...) based on proximity to other fanbases. It looks like in a lot of states the most popular team is also going to be the most hated among fans other schools, probably due to exposure exhaustion.

I would bet the Gators were most-hated in Florida 5 years ago.

Auburn shouldn't be taking up the whole state in Alabama, even though the new money Bama fans that used to be auburn fans pretend to hate them. The funniest part about living in Alabama your whole life is realizing how many people flip flop back and forth between the teams depending on how they are doing. I know guys that played for Bama then all the sudden became Auburn fans during that stretch in 03-07.. now of course it's changed again. When they say you must choose one when you are born in the state, that's full of s*** and they are all friends with each other lol... Yet they have always thought I was nuts for being a Florida fan in Bama, but yet I've told them time and again im a "real loyal fan", something they would NEVER undersand.

I'm Danny, and I approve this message.

The dude that poisoned the trees disagrees with this statement.

What I said is exactly how it is in Alabama, it's a played out topic and they don't even watch the games they would rather smoke cigarettes and socialize or listen to phish than watch football.

Ohio State is most hated in Michigan...makes rivalry sense. I was thinking UGA would be "most hated" in our state...them being UF's biggest rival and such.

I am surprised f$u isn't hated in more places besides Florida.

GO Canes!

Since you grew up there and lived there longer I guess I'll have to take your word for it. My experience from the few short years living there in late 90's was this....

They eat, sleep, smoke, and crap Alabama football. Can't get buddies to do much of anything during the season but watch Ba football. Only times they pay attention to another team is if it is a soon Bama opponent. They say they are "scouting" as if they are a coach and going to make a difference. They will go to a high school game to watch a Bama committ. They watch old Bama tapes during the week or the replay from the last game 4 times before the next week. They sit on hold all day to spill there 30 seconds worth on a radio call in show. *Hence what put Paul Finebaum on big network shows* Yeah they will guzzle down a 12 pack of Busch or Natty Light and smoke 2 packs of Marlobo in between scouting and following every single Bama recruit. But those were the Bama fans I knew. Nothing wrong with being a faithful fan but I didn't see too many of them with a fun social life especially during the season.

Oh, so you was sober when you typed we're "not relevant enough"?? That's even worse.
Bless your little heart, you are so...what is the phrase I am looking for? Oh yes. Insecure about your team.

Run along little boy.

That's news to me too. Last I read he and his girlfriend were baptized over the weekend (much to Tim Tebow's approval). Looks like Jameis is doing what most hoped he would...keeping his life on the straight and narrow. Good for him.

Yes, I read that as well.

When a great young couple they are.

I like Jameis but being dunked in water doesn't mean you can walk on it. Also doesn't mean he is less/more straight and narrow. Millions of Sunday believers out there who sh*t the bed the other 6 days of the week.

Sincerely,
Agnostic
