Looks like mac is going to bring Tim Skipper from the CSU staff to coach RBs.

Rumors have a NFL DL coach as our next DL coach. he comes from a fired coaching staff. Several candidates fit that description.

That is the name that keeps coming up.

Sources have confirmed Florida Gators offensive line coach Mike Summers will be retained by McElwain. Speculation has been in the air the past few weeks whether Summers would stay or not with the coaching change in Gainesville. The veteran coach will keep some sort of continuity on the offensive side of the ball, which will definitely be a bonus for the returning big guys next season. The line drastically improved this season and the Gators became more physical at the point of attack thanks to coach Summers. The pieces of the Florida Gators coaching puzzle have been slowly coming together this past week. With Summers staying look for the Gators to land heralded 5 star tackle Martez Ivey. Ivey has a great relationship with Summers and this should seal the deal for Florida.

McDonald is Syracuse's OC right? Thats big-time. Not many people can say they have a former OC as a position coach. Likewise with Shannon as a former DC only being our LB coach. McElwain's hires have been on point! I'm really, really starting to feel this dude.

He was Syracuse's OC but it would be another great hire for sure. Groh has decided to stay in the NFL but I think I may actually like McDonald more than Groh.

Which is why I am guessing we have a class that far exceeds expectations.

Yea McElwain has knocked it out the park so far with staff hires. I despised the Nussmeir choice, but I'm willing to give it a chance. The other hires have been home runs though. If this keeps up I'd be shocked if we're not in contention for an SEC Title by year 3.

I'm with oozie on this one, I love this staff sans Nuss, but if you like all but one you assume Mac did well.

And as dje mentioned, this staff is built to recruit......NOW

I love most of the hires (meh on Nuss, and the te coach, but Callahan is a HR. Very good coach (look at UCF pass efficiency D) and is very well connected to help us lock down the Tampa area.

Callahan is another very good hire. He can coach and has impeccable connections in the Tampa area when it comes to recruiting. His dad is the head coach of Seffner Armwood HS.

That is good news...even under Muschamp we dominated the Tampa area.

Kind of. He was demoted to WR mid-season after a year and a half as OC.

The tweet has since been deleted, so either Coach McElwain has
informed Johnson that he'll be looking elsewhere, or the former wide
receiver realized he may need a few more tools in his bag to get the job
done.

Love the staff so far, would love to see a good recruiter here (WR coach).

Anyone know why we chose Nord?

Is the strength guy good, I for one am not sad to see Dillman go.

I see Shannon was Asst. HC, must be paying him well.

I know Nord and Mac coached together for a few years.

I'm glad Summers is staying. He did the best coaching job by far this year IMO. Given our bad QB play, lack of talent and depth, and all the loaded boxes we faced what he did with our line was incredible.

I have just confirmed a bet today with South Carolina football alum and now a Florida elementary school principal that we are National Champions in 2017......looking forward to the $100.00 Bonefish gift card.

Shannon also named Co-DC. Apparently, Shannon had a $50K buyout with Arky unless he got an HC or a DC position, so...

Way to choose the year we open v Harbaugh

Harbaugh is having a little bit of trouble filling his staff. He offered the S&C coach he had at Stanford and he turned him down to stay at Stanford. He offered the TE coach that he had while at Stanford and that coach is now with Kentucky and decided to stay at Kentucky.

I don't want to chuck a perception around that I am being mulish about the accomplishments of Harbaugh, he is a great coach, but he hasn't been part of a National Championship team nor has he won a Super Bowl. Besides, like Paco said, he's having a hard time putting the staff together. Maybe they know something we dont.

And what's going on with Roman? I thought part of Harbaugh's problem with 49ers was over him insisting on keeping Roman, but it appears he is not taking him to Mich?
