A lot of football is about creating and capitalizing on momentum when you have it, especially on offense. I really think this is the biggest thing that hurt us last night.
Offense begins and ends with special teams. I think we could improve on our kick returns. Offense has a different mentality when starting on the 35-40 versus the 25.
The missed field goals in the first half hurt. Going into the half 16-7 creates an entirely different mindset than going in 10-7. Changes your play calling.
Same with McAllister's running into the kicker penalty last night, which I thought was a bs flag as he wasn't going for a block. We were moving the ball okay at that point offensively but that call put our D back on the field.
Our mistakes last night are fixable fellas. Step back from the ledge and realize that last night was one of those games in which it was just hard to get things going. These games happen and it's better that it happens now.
