Lucky me...I get to stay. That said you were spot on with your Jimbo 4 loss thread. I have actually grown to really dislike him. Not because of his coaching shortcomings so much as his total lack of loyalty for FSU and the fans. Every year he holds the program hostage with the help of his agent. He preaches loyalty and accountability every year. In return, going back in time, he has accepted a job at UAB after saying he wanted to be the OC at FSU. That deal got blown up as you may recall. He then manipulated himself into a HCIW title in Tallahassee all the while praising the Bowden's for being a 2nd family to him. He then gets the HC spot and routinely allows his name to float out there for whatever job opening there might be which brings me to ATM. He won't squash the rumor because he is money grabbing again. Top 5 paid coach and he is still milking the school. His assistants, who he is loyal to, are a top paid group overall. 5 of them needed to be fired a year plus ago. I have grown tired of his act.

Coaches can get away with a lot as long as they win. A lot of people at FSU were tired of Jimbo until Winston came along. Now Winston's gone and people are tiring again. I know people who couldn't stand Urban Meyer personally but, as long as he was bringing championships, everyone was willing to put up with it.

Thanks for coming over and showing some sportsmanship. In all honesty, had you lost this bet I would have not held you to it. I agree with your view of Jimbo. As far as him going to T&M, this is what a prominent lawyer at a major University program wrote about Jimbo:

"Jimbo does not want to go to the SEC (especially the SEC West) - he is a great recruiter but a marginal coach. Bama broke his team this year do you think he wants to face that every year add in LSU and Aub? This is Sexton leveraging a bad FSU season into a pay raise.

Does anyone think he will leave FSU?"

I think Jimbo's ego is such that he could go anywhere if the money is right. Just speculating but I think the marriage cheat took some life out of him. On top of that he has a terminally ill son. A change might do him some good, mentally, even if it isn't what many would deem a smart move long term. He probably has some custody hurdles to clear before leaving town too. He is still playing the coy card this morning apparently. Rumor is he wants confirmation on a stand alone football facility and more money for his assistants. I believe the facility is happening regardless of him. I am cool with paying his NEW assistants more but I would be pissed as F if FSU gave him a dollar raise right now.

I am 50/50 on him leaving or not. I have zero inside sources which means I am as connected as Paco.

Most of the fan base wants him gone? I doubt that. Most FSU fans want him to stay and make the necessary staff changes that he failed to do last year.

I think more want him to stay but the number against continues to grow. He is giving his presser right now. States he won't talk about jobs. Again, all he has to do is say "I am going to be the man here until they tell me otherwise". Instead it is always cryptic BS. I get the whole leverage in gaining more money but do that in private and not every year. Especially after a dogsh*t season.

Beating UF is always nice but the sting of BC beating on a Friday night game, that we should have never agreed to, still hurts. Having games against Duke, Wake and Miami come down to literally the last play of the game suck too. Louisville too.

That would be correct. Jimbo is not perfect by any means, but I would take him over all but about 5 coaches. If he stays, I do think he will make some necessary changes.
