Remember, this is still a hostage negotiation. Dems are trying to negotiate the release of Biden from his captors ie the people that have bought him. They paid good money for him, and they seem to be unwillingly to let him go.

I agree that they are looking for someone they can just swap out for Biden. Newsome looked like he might be the guy, but as I recall he has run before and pulled terribly. I’m sure they envisioned Mayor Pete as the guy, but he also polled at 1 percent in 2020.

Here in the Washington DC area, a Giant Food Store (chain grocery) is getting ready to shut down in a certain area of DC. They are going to close the location because for the past several years, they are losing 20% of all revenue (not profit) to crime (shop lifting). It's expected, once it officially announced that its closing, that Mayor Bowser and Michelle Obama will hold a press conference to berate Giant as being racist and only closing this store because its in a black neighborhood, and how it will effect the people, and never saying anything about the loss/crime.
