Claims the weapon he trained on in the Naval Reserves and the AR platform are the same thing.

Last I checked, Intel officers carry 9mm Beretta pistols, and the AR is a semi automatic, not a select fire weapon. He's probably never touched one.

He probably doesn’t remember what weapon they gave him in Naval Reserves , as they seldom give swabbies real man tools, as they would probably damage themselves - that’s what’s marines are for

One of my best friends is a naval chief with a Master of Arms rating, which is rather rare - he had the rating from being in the Army for years and then transferring to Navy..... Army paymasters kept phuvking up the stipends and reimbursements

If I recall correctly there are only four types of swab jockeys that handle rifles. SEALs, SWCC, MP/master at arms, and SeaBee (Naval construction battalion.)

The problem as I see it is your layman sees that Mayor Pete is a veteran, saw action in OEF, Afghanistan, and therefore assumes that he knows what he's talking about.
