Interesting. I don't know if I have ever seen a coach offer to put money up to pay for facilities, however, new Miami coach Mark Richt has told Hurricanes donors that he will put up $1 million toward an Indoor Practice Facility.
Now, him being an alumnus of the school definitely makes the situation a bit of an outlier, but still...
Imagine putting up the money, but as the rest is being raised and the building is being built, have a couple of bad seasons, get fired and have to watch another coach utilize an IPF that you helped pay for.
