Pierce will be the RB1 for the Texans on Opening Day whereas Malik Davis is on my Cowboys practice squad. Both had great preseasons and proved they belonged in the league as playmakers. Pierce will show out in the AFC South whereas Davis is buried behind Zeke and Pollard in Dallas but will probably get on the active roster sometime this year hopefully. Both are a testimony to the failed coaching job Danny-Boy Mullen did in Gainesville. Two NFL-caliber backs on his roster and Mullen didn't utilize them to their fullest abilities. Another reason I wanna punch Mullen's lights out if I ever run into him somewheres.😡

This is misleading. Malik Davis got cut by Dallas and the signed to the practice squad. If you don't make the 53, you got cut ...
Oh Davis will get on the field in Dallas at some point. He had a great preseason. Hate to lose him.

Hopeful Davis can find a spot at some point during the year. With injuries to RBs feel confident he will. DP looked great in preseason.

Here we go, yet again....

Who had the better team running game in 2021?

Dan, vs SEC defenses,
OR
Billy, vs Sun Belt Defenses....
~~ They both used RB by Committee systems btw.

So let's just test your knowledge, or your ability to look up the actual stats, in place of ignorant drivel...

UF --- Rushing Yds/Gm?
ULL - Rushing Yds/Gm?

UF --- Team YPC Average?
ULL - Team YPC Average?

And is Billy in line for a punch out if he doesn't use the RB's the way you think they should be used???
😉

Unranked UF Rushing vs #7 UU:

Richardson - 11 for 106 yds, 9.6 ypc, 3 TD's, L-45
M.Johnson -- 12 for 76 yds, 6.3 ypc, 1 TD, L-16
Etienne ------- 5 for 64 yds, 12.8 ypc, 0 TD, L-21
Wright --------10 for 41 yds, 3.9 ypc, 0 TD, L-14
Lingard ------- DNP

Fumbles/Lost
Johnson 1/1
Etienne 1/0

UF Team ---- 39 for 283 yds, 7.3 ypc, 4 TD's, L 45
UU Team ---- 39 for 230 yds, 5.9 ypc, 2 TD's, L-29

PS
True Fr Etienne looks to be in line for more reps in the near future....

They are playing each other today and the QB for the Houston Texans is Jeff Driskel. Pierce already has one TD vs the Cowboys. Pierce was the leading rusher today from both teams.

Cowboys backup RB Malik Davis -- 23 for 102 Yds, 4.5 YPC, 1 TD, L-23
I believe that means that he's now at least on the active roster.

So he's no Emmitt Smith, but then neither is Pierce....

Just some more off-season drivel to chew on....

MJ - HS 6.1 ypc, 1 TD, 0 LPF's -- UF 5.4 ypc, 10 TD's

TE - HS 12.3 ypc, 20 TD's, 3 LPF's -- UF 6.1 ypc, 6 TD's

TW - HS 7.6 ypc, 20 TD's, 2 LPF's

MB - HS 7.8 ypc, 20 TD's, 0 LPF's + 16.5 yds/comp, 41 TD's, 4 Ints -- UF Bench
==========

Quotes from BN - Napier has always preferred to rotate rushers within his offensive scheme. Either 4 RB's, or 1 QB-dt with 3 RB's.

Napier hasn't hesitated to put freshmen RB's on the field, (just 24-0 QB's?)
"He's been a part of a winning program. I think you can never overlook that."

"At running back, oftentimes I think it's about production."
"Scared money, don't make money."

HS Rushing Stats from Max Preps:

RB Montrell Johnson Jr 5-11 218 - So
HS Career - 63 for 383 yds, 6.1 ypc, 1 TD, L-30
P - 7 for 57 yds, L-57
Rec - 5 for 59 yds, L-33
(UF - 155 for 892 yds, 5.4 ypc, L-62, 10 TD's)

RB Trevor Etienne 5-9 217 - Fr

HS Sr 7 Gms - 109 for 1,344 yds, 12.3 ypc, L-98, 20 TD's, 3 LPF's
Rec - 4 for 29 yds, L-24
(UF - 118 for 730 yds, 6.1 ypc, L-85, 6 TD's)

RB Treyaun Webb 6-1 205
HS Sr 11 Gms - 147 for 1,117 yds, 7.6 ypc, L 93, 20 TD's, 2 LPF's
I Rec for -2 yds, and had 1 incomplete pass.

QB-dt Max Brown 6-2 200 - Fr - Redshirt - 24-0 HS Reg. Season
HS Sr 14 Gms - 173 for 1,343 yds, 7.8 ypc, 20 TD's, 0 LPF's
P - 167 for 2,750 yds, 16.5 yds/comp, 41 TD's, 4 Ints
(UF - left sitting on the bench due to a lack of coaching imo)

What I wonder about, is why Billy went after Brown to flip him to UF, if he's not talented enough to get coaching with a chance to play??? Was he just wasting ship money so he could say he got a QB in his 1st class? (or was it some other class-less motive by others?) --- I guess we might learn something by Spring practice and the O&B game, if MB's still here by then....
