The 24 year old weighted 400 lbs and had DM and HTN

All but 1 were morbidly obese

All 5 had been in our hospital for weeks slowly dying.

Glory Glory it’s a hellavu way to die!!!

Please consider the vaccine!!! TY Operation Warp Speed!

(PS, This does not change any of my other views or stances on this topic, I’m still anti-shutting down commerce.)

Nope - no vaccine for me.
Certainly your choice. My battalion commander choose not to wear flak and Sappi plates in Iraq as a sign of good faith with the Iraqis. He surrived.

Look at him now....

Two of the people I work with are out with COVID. I have only been near them very briefly and always at least six feet apart.
I don't know if I should be worried or not.

My brother's wife has it and he doesn't. Actually she is over it. He got tested several times and negative every time. He has asthma and has had since he was a kid. Nada, nothing. Sleep in the same bed.

I don’t know, probably not. Reality is most everybody will get coronavirus sooner or later but thankfully 99% of the people that get it Either get no symptoms or a bad cold. The high-risk groups definitely should worry more.

I firmly believe some of us are just not that susceptible to it where is others are and then a small percentage get really bad immune reaction to it. I suspect millions of Americans have been exposed and either never got it or asymptomatic. It’s certainly not as bad as it make it out to be but, when you’re in that small percentage, chances are you’re gonna die.

I think we agree. Driving an automobile is dangerous but that's no excuse to shut down the highways. And that's what normal people are pissed about.

I am anti-shut downs except an extreme emergencies. But it is actually more fatal right now than driving an automobile

Just for what it’s worth. But I still agree with you.

But in the grand scheme of life..... this is a relatively mild pandemic to be shutting the entire economy down IMO.....what the eff would we do if the terminal rate was 5% w/o co-morbidities

How many people died from wearing such protection?

I'm not anti-vax but I'd like a little more data given my risk factors.

I don’t even have to open that post to tell you that’s BS. 23 people died in Norway and they clearly say even in the little caption that the vaccine may have contributed some to her death but there’s no proof that it did.

By the way we lost a few Marines to dehydration and Iraq wearing all that equipment.

It’s a personal choice guys, as a doctor that does nothing but deal with coronavirus I have not seen any true compelling evidence of the vaccine is causing people to die in the actual adverse reaction rate is the same as it is with influenza or other vaccines so far. Maybe something will come down the road that proves it to be more dangerous than I think it is right now but so far I haven’t seen it.

Did you ever meet this guy?

Did you ever meet this guy?

No, looks like he was mostly active duty side where as I was a reservist they got mobilized twice. Our paths may have crossed but I don’t remember him.

David was a classmate of mine from Hartsville along with the other two guys I posted about.

This guy is younger than me but went to HHS until he went to a military prep school. We had Spanish together. Colonel Will Zemp

I can’t remember if we talked about this or not but I did my fellowship at the medical University of South Carolina and Charleston. Are used to drive by the clothes gates of the citadel all the time.

Yes we also talked about Tommy Condon's. If I were forced to return to SC :), Charleston would be my first pick then Greenville second. I am a hillbilly and not a sandlapper so Greenville for the hills but Charleston for the environment.

I remember that now. Yeah I would pick Charleston or Sullivans Island if I had the means, but I have a condo in downtown Greenville too :)

Your post reminds me of the Loveline show back in the day when people would call in except they had sexual issues.

Showing my age here 😂😂😂

Gunna be honest with you..... I dont need the vaccine.

Going to be honest with you, I don’t care. That’s a personal choice. And there’s a 99% chance you’re right. You don’t need a seatbelt 99.9% of the time. Good luck

It won't be long before people who refuse to take the vaccine will be chastised for not taking it and we will see where it goes from there. My guess is that they will be ostracized if not outright quarantined as a threat to the people.

Yeah, I have no clue how all that stuff in the Bible could come true. Having to have a mark on you to function in society....pffft....as if that could ever happen.

And before wackadoodles come in here and claim I am saying this vaccine is the mark. Nope, just saying the slope is now covered in fry guys oil.

That has not been my experience at all. Where I live and work it is 100% free choice, recommended for healthcare workers and at risk groups, but not required by anybody at this time.

now could certain industries make it a requirement for example to fly on their plane, maybe, but I don’t think companies that want to make a profit are going to be all that fired up about it.

Can the government force that somehow, possibly, but I think the backlash they’re feeling right now from the social media crap hopefully has them nervous, we’ll see. But as for now it’s entirely voluntary as it should be.

Just a prediction...perhaps I'm wrong.

Airlines and other businesses will follow the winds of political correctness as defined by our media. That's already happening, of course.
