Blows my mind how much of a damn goofball you have to be to support folks whose entire premise is....we must take your money. We can use it better than you can.

serious question. Can the dems on the board answer.....how do you become so brainwashed that you literally have politicians (demoncrats and pubs not named donald) holding a gun to your head saying give us your damn money, and y’all smile, check those party line boxes at the polls, and ask them to hold you after the raping? Is it daddy issues?

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship...”

It’s a tale of 2 America’s...urban and suburban.
The Democrat voting base is dominated by urban voters...and vice versa.
The change from a gas tax to a ‘per mile’ tax doesn’t effect the urban voting base as much as the suburban voting base.
And let’s be real, they want the money, for the most part, to build and improve the mass and public transportation system...a system that largely benefits the urban population.
So in essence, they are trying to improve the quality of life for their Democratic voting base by forcing the Republican voters to pay for it.
Them there are fighting words.

Right now the gas tax is part of buying gas. Who buys more gas, the urban people with their little cars, or rural people with their big low mileage pickup trucks?

You see, rural people currently pay a disproportionate amount of the tax for roads. But wait a minute, if they are driving on a lot more roads, with heavier vehicles, and therefore causing more road damage, perhaps they are paying a PROPORTIONATE amount of tax after all? But that's an argument for a different day.

Point is, there is nothing wrong with a use tax. You use more, you pay more. This was actually a preferred method of taxation by Republicans, back in the day when well-educated conservatives were in charge, before the party was taken over by screaming idiots.

If you want to be irate about something, consider being irate about the fact that even with the incredible advances made in polymers and other synthetic materials that last forever, we are still using concrete and tar to make roads that barely last 10 years before they have to be ripped up and redone. If we started making good, lasting roads, the gas tax could be largely eliminated, once the infrastructure was built.

Don't try to be a comedian, you know it's way more than that.

correct. He just has zero character or integrity. It’s already been determined he lack reading comprehension as well. Supposedly he is a numbers guy. If anyone knows a good math board, maybe provide him a link

plenty of reasons to start over. We are past the typical end of life cycle for a Republic anyway

Really? Because there are a lot of Republics right now, all around our age, and I don't see any of them looking to fold the tent.

You need to stop making a fool of yourself, which, I fear would mean stopping posting entirely. And also speaking to other people. Or writing to them. Pretty much no more communication ever.
