Orange Bowl- December 30th- Florida versus Virginia- The Gators head south to Miami for their bowl. It will be the first time since beating Maryland 56-23 in 2002 they have played in the Orange Bowl. No one expected the Cavaliers to give Clemson much of a game and they didn’t losing 62-17. However getting a New Year’s Six bowl is a great reward for making the ACC title game.

So while not the Orange Bowl, it was played in the same place 5 days later...
2. I agree the Gator's to the Orange, (if UGly remains higher CFP ranked than the Gators), but I doubt that it will be VA as the opponents. If UGly drops below UF in the CFP rankings, then it's UF to the Sugar vs Baylor and UGly to the Orange.
After CFP, Sugar, and Rose, the Orange gets the highest ranked SEC vs ACC or Big10 or ND.
I can't imagine VA 9-4, 6-3 ACC, filling that slot....

Heather Dinich is reporting that some bowls will take place in December...and some other bowls will be held in January....
Probably the Orange which I like in FL anyhow. Could be Sugar with uga getting blown out but I doubt they move them back behind us...it'd almost like being punished for going to Atlanta.
My concern is Bama. If the Sugar somehow decides to take them, then Georgia likely gets the Orange, and we get the Citrus. That would SUUUUUUUCK.

Ok, I looked at the Wiki, and Bama can't get the Sugar. but they could get the Orange, which would still put us in the Citrus. We won't get the Sugar, no way Georgia drops below us. But I worry about this less, Florida would bring more fans than Bama since Bama fans look at this as a down year now.
BS -- Bama can't get the Orange unless they are ranked above both UGly and UF,,, by freakin' contract.
Fan following has SQUAT to do with it. Highest ranked non-CFP gets the Sugar. Period!
Highest ranked SEC/Big10/ND gets the Orange vs the highest ranked non-CFP ACC.
Bama CAN'T jump past UF in the polls, and it's highly unlikely that UGly would drop below Bama in the polls, but it they did, it would be UF to the Sugar.
Bama only gets the bid if they are the highest ranked between what's left of the SEC/Big10/ND options. The highest ranked non-CFP ACC is already in, by contract.
