During these long hot summer days, I often find myself looking forward to the cooler crisper days of autumn.. Of course with those days comes the Saturday football games.

I just wish we had a coach we could believe in, I mean it's obvious Mullen can't improve a squad from the previous years.... Oh, he did take us from below 500 to a top ten year end ranking.

Ok, but he can't recruit because of.... Oh, he has a top ten class thus far in 2020.. But he can't beat good teams with a good coach, oh I guess he proved that when he throttled a top ten Michigan team in the Peach Bowl.

You know, I still wish we had a beatle wannabe, mush mouth choker roaming our sidelines because....... Uh, because of... His ties to Nick Saban?....

Lol..

Mac was just running the program into the ground as far as work ethic etc. The book isn't fully written on Mullen yet but that was a pretty good 1st season.

This season will tell us a lot more. He will 100% own the 2020 season.
---------------

For some laughs we can compare Mac and Mullen's 1st season:

Talent composite index the 1st season:

Mac (# 15 in FBS)
Mullen (# 12 in FBS)

Mac went 7-1 in the SEC regular season not losing an SEC home game winning the East division and making the SECCG.
Mullen was pounded at home by Mizzu and KY and got beat by our biggest rival in the SEC. Mullen finished 3rd in the SEC East.

Mac lost to FSU who Mullen beat on the road.

Mac - 2 SECCG appearances in 3 years as a head coach in the SEC.
Mullen - 0 SECCG appearances in 10 years as a head coach in the SEC.

Talent matters, don't get me wrong.. However I think a good coach can elevate a team that recruits top 15 classes.. I believe Mullen's classes in Starkville were more around the 30's.

Our 2019 class was top 10 by most recruiting composites, it took a hit with the loss of a 5 star in Steele, but it was still a class of 4 stars and 3 stars.. I can't judge a coach fairly until at least three full recruiting cycles.. This is when we see his first batch fully start seeing the field.

Yep I think Mullen was usually 25 - 30 or so at Miss State which is harder to recruit obviously.

Mullen can survive these early losses from the 2019 class but he does need to start being at least top 6 nationally to get us where we need to be probably. He had a nice haul of O linemen this past class.

Talk about a shallow analysis. The state of the division isn’t even comparable at this point in time. The East just had a winning record against the West for the first time in over 7 years. Mac had a losing record against ranked teams but got to backdoor his way into division titles with some of the worst offenses in the country because the East was garbage. Good job. Typical.

2015 SEC East Records:

UF: 10-4
UT: 9-4
UGA: 10-3
Vandy: 4-8
UK: 5-7
Mizzou: 5-7
SC: 3-9

Gee, I wonder why Mac had a better conference record. 4 of the 7 teams in the division with a losing record.

2018 SEC East Records:

UGA: 11-3
UK: 10-3
UF: 10-3
SC: 7-6
Mizzou: 8-5
Vandy: 6-7 (lost bowl game)
UT: 5-7

1 team with a losing record. UF's team last year wins the SEC East if it was as garbage as it was in 2015. And UK would have too. Yay for Mac being the tallest midget.

It is Fever! What did you expect?? Has he ever had a good analysis ever?

Look he knows he’s an idiot. He just does it to get a reaction now.

I also love the hasn't won the division quip. Dan Mullen's first season at MSU was 09', the very first year Bama won a title under Saban and then proceeded to have the greatest dynasty CFB has ever seen. So essentially, Mullen is being criticized for not being able to knock off the greatest dynasty of all-time at one of the worst schools in the country historically. And?

MSU has won the division ONE time since their inaugural season in 1895, and they lost 4 games in the season they won it. Oh, and they later had to vacate that division title for cheating. So in reality, they've never even so much as won a division in over 100 years of football. Clearly Mullen sucks for not being able to reverse a century of suck and win CFB's best division with them.

There is never an excuse to lose to Georgia after losing to a team that hasn't beat you since Reagan was the POTUS. :D

If you're talking about Kentucky, it was just a matter of time, especially under Muschamp and twice under Butters(2015 & 2017) if I remember correctly. Right after almost losing to KY in 2014, I screamed for Musdump to get fired. I hated Fooley more and more when we chanted for his head to be on a platter while getting our ass stomped by Mizzou in 2014. I thought for sure dumpchump would be around for 2015.

We should have lost to UK in 2014, 2015 and 2017. 2014 was the 3 OT game where we got the snap off with no time left, let's be honest. Game should have ended before we forced OT. 2015 we beat them 14-9 in a game where they owned us for much of it and we escaped in the 4th. And 2017 they left receivers uncovered twice with 10 men on the field allowing us to escape with a 1 point win.

Anybody acting like we had some disastrous loss to them this year is just being disingenuous. They beat us with their best team ever and with us missing multiple starters on defense in the 2nd game under a new staff. It was bound to happen and should have already happened. They just finally didn't choke this time.

The Michigan win is a far better indicator of what is going on at Florida than the Kentucky loss...

I agree even though I don't think it was huge win due to all their top players skipping the game while ours mostly played. I would say our most telling win was LSU last year as it was the regular season and they are a really talented team.

Not sure why this narrative persists. Michigan had exactly 4 starters not play, 2 on each side of the ball. And of those 4, 3 of them had missed multiple games already for the year. In other words, they had played and won lots of games without those players. 4 starters missing doesn’t create a 30 point gap.

Besides if you’re gonna say there’s no excuse for us losing to UK, a game where we were down 3 starters just on defense alone, Michigan doesn’t get to use that excuse either. They’ve far outrecruited us the last few years so they were still the most talented team on the field.

So you're agreeing with the Georgia shit posters that half the team was out for Michigan?

Interesting...
